Re: Forum Problems (Please post here)

Here's a screen shot of my previous post (the whiny one).

The bad thing is if my attachment doesn't attach, I can't edit my post to fix it.

I used to have a "Modify" button/link/thingy, but it's not there anymore.

Re: Forum Problems (Please post here)

I suspect there is (intended or, most likely, unintended) difference between accounts of supporters and non-supporters.

MODIFICATION because that button is visible to me right now

That's a pretty sneaky way to get funding.

Re: Forum Problems (Please post here)

I am sure this is one of remaining software adjustments arising from the introduction of new category of users. If you look at earlier posts, supporters were locked out from some of regular forums...

Re: Forum Problems (Please post here)

The real reason is there was user on here that is a spammer. And I installed some code to prevent spamming from happening, for some reason not all the member groups permissions were changed. I had to manually edit every user group.

Re: Forum Problems (Please post here)

So should I take this as a "I'm working on it, give me time," response? Or is it a "We can't trust non-supporters to not spam us, so you won't be able to edit your posts," response. If it's the latter, I can understand the zero-risk mentality, but I don't necessarily agree with it.

And obviously, thanks for not letting us get spammed. I appreciate that.

Re: Forum Problems (Please post here)

It's hit or miss for me to access this site. I keep getting the same error in any browser I use:

Database Error: MySQL server has gone away
File: /home/siennach/public_html/forum/Sources/Security.php
Line: 279

More times than not I can't get in.

The issue is fixed on my home computer. I'll try clearing the cache on my work computer to see if that fixes the issue there.
