No cooling from rear vents - 2000 Sienna LE

There is no air coming out of ceiling vents at all, but air flows nicely out of the vent under the front passenger seat. Searching the forum, there have been descriptions of problems that have no rear air at all, but it's not clear to me if the vent under the seat is part of that rear system or not. One thread indicated a failing fan motor, but if that were the case, wouldn't the under-seat vent not blow too? I really don't know where to start here..... thanks!

You do have the rear controller set at the maximum cool setting, right? It's here that air begins to flow from the ceiling vents, rather than the floor. Air only flows from the ceiling or floor, at any given time, not both...

+1. Sounds like you need to turn the back control knob to the blue dot. Rear AC blows out of the ceiling vents. Rear heat only comes out under the passenger seat. Never both ceiling and floor.

Well I'm the big idiot! Can't believe I missed that...... you're both correct - changing the rear controls solved it. I'd totally forgotten those controls were there, and I guess my boy must have been messing with them. Thanks!
