Because you have the Limited where it's standard equipment.

Re: Remove antenna before car wash!!

Did anyone ever find a good short antenna replacement? Also, where is the antenna tool everyone keeps mentioning? Thanks.

Re: Remove antenna before car wash!!

I got a '13 XLE AWD and was a bit surprised to see that it had a huge aerial. Thought about getting one with RES as they don't have the giant fender-mounted aerials. I ended up getting this from Amazon, seems to work pretty well. I'd still remove it if I went through a non touch-free car wash though as I think you'd run the risk of ripping the base out otherwise.

Does this flex at all? I guess I'm wondering if I'd have to worry about some teenager grabbing it and damaging the car itself.

Re: Remove antenna before car wash!!

Here is my semi homemade antenna. I took a old flex whip antenna I had laying around from my Audi and used the universal adapters that came with a cheap universal antenna kit I originally bought. I put them together and used a cable cover from Radio Shack to give it a finished look. No reception issues or auto car wash issues.
