    Rear wiper arm needs alignment

on a recent trip to FL we had a family party and some people were in the driveway chatting; it seems like someone by mistake put his arm or hand and pushed the wiper arm down a bit, so it is now resting below the windshield glass.

Could it be easy to remove the cap and re-adjust the bolt inside, if any?

Re: Rear wiper arm needs alignment

    What year is your Sienna??

For 2004 & SOME 2005, they came with PLASTIC covers over the bolt and the arm assembly. The bolt cover is easy to remove, and is part of how you do the rear-wiper "salute" trick/mod...

Some 2005 & all 2006+ do not have the plastic "aerodynamic" covers. The bolt is already exposed.

I'm hoping for your sake that I am "wrong", but it doesn't sound to me like simply re-adjusting the bolt will fix your misaligned wiper arm. It sounds like something is now actually "broken". This is similar to how many automatic car washes (that drag or spin cloths against the car body) damage/break rear-window wipers. I hope I'm wrong.... :o

    Let us know...

    YMMV.

Re: Rear wiper arm needs alignment

I've replaced a bunch of wiper arms and the fit is basically a socket fit with bolt. If I recall, the plastic cover at the end snaps off and then you can simply loosen the bolt, pull the arm out a bit, reposition. The reverse procedure to get it tight and cover back on.

Piece of advise...the reason to remove snow from top of van is so that when you drive it doesn't slide down the back and break off the wiper arm. Lessen learned...once for each driver.
