Map coverage on v8.1 in canada

Does anybody use, in or near Canada, a nav version v8.1 (mine is gen3 but that shouldn't matter).
The map coverage on my v2.1 seems to stop at the US border and only shows lakes here in BC. Well it shows the no. 1 highway but I live 200km south of it.
I was wanting know, starting at what version do they include more coverage of western Canada?
Mainly Cranbrook and south to the border on highway 95.
It seems we don't get included in many things like:
    No cell phone coverage
    No cable TV
    No wifi
    No broadband

etc but on the pos side we have No zoning and No daylight saving time
LOL, So if anybody has seen the rural usage of any versing greater than v2.1 i would be happy to read comments, to see what version I need to buy to upgrade.
    Thanks Colin

I can sympathize with the problem but don't have a solution.

No Daylight Savings Time? I'm confused... although this is true in Saskatchewan, B.C. does follow DST. Did the East Kootenay region (which is in Mountain Time even though the rest of the province is in Pacific Time) decide to opt out of DST in the last couple of years? That is the most confusing possible arrangement for anyone who is traveling.

    Sorry for the sidetrack...

We live in Central Kootenay ( RDCK), It a small small area east of Yahk to west of Creston and goes south to the US border.

Yea we can and do, also leave keys in all the vehicles also. Very safe here because of no population or tourists.

My 7.1 works well in your area. I haven't tried 8.1 but I would think it would be even better in its coverage.

Thank-you, thank-you, for the reply that's what I was hoping to here!!!
We have traveled up 97 quite often as my in laws live in Quesnel...(dragon lake)
We haven't taken the Sienna up there yet, maybe this fall we will have time to travel north.
It's always a beautiful trip to drive..

I got to try the v8.1 today, and it works great in our area. All the highways and many side roads are on the screen. This was a great fathers day for me, I am happier than a pig in s**t.

Email me before you come up North this year. If possible I would like to get together and see if there are any major changes from 71.
    Thanks.
