    Install of a Curt 56106 T-Connector

I purchased the Curt 56106 T-Connector kit on Amazon for 48$ (free Shipping). The installation was fairly straight forward.

The converter box of this kit is designed to be mounted on the drivers side of the van. The length of the wires serving the left and right tail-light dictate which side the converter box must be mounted. I wanted to mount the converter box on the right (passenger) side of the van so I could stow the trailer cable in the jack compartment when it’s not in use. In order to do this I had to extend the length of the yellow wire which serves the left directional. Other then that modification the installation went fine.

I also opted to run the dedicated 12V line inside the car instead of outside as Curt recommended. I ran the wire from the engine compartment through a firewall grommet on the passenger side, behind the glove compartment, behind the right kick plate and under the door thresholds Then behind the 3rd row panel and into the jack compartment. I connected this lead into the engine compartment fuse box using a Bussmann BP/HHH ATM Add-A-Fuse instead of directly the the battery terminal.

Next project is to install a Curt 13105 Class 3 Receiver Hitch. Also available on Amazon. (free shipping!)

    DONE!

Thank you for posting this -- especially the part about the Add-A-Fuse. Love the Add-A-Fuse and have used them for years. I really don't like the idea of adding another wire directly to the battery. Don't really have any justification for not liking -- just don't!

I, too, kind of went reverse (purely due to shipping delays) with my hitch install. I installed the Air Lift suspension bags first, then the wiring kit, and when I receive the hitch in a couple of days I'll put that on last. This is the exact opposite of what I did with my 2005 Sienna.
