She had a tire fixed, and the guy at the tire store ran the code and said the O2 sensor was starting to go bad. He gave her a price to replace both of them. The car runs fine and the mileage is the same. So we ignored it. But now its due for an emissions test, and I don't think they will pass it with the light on. I don't know the code. I can get it read and pass that on to you. I heard that the O2 sensor is the part most often replaced when it doesn't need to be. So your suggestions are welcome. I know your first post is going to be "Get us a code!" So I am going to do that. Thanks and Happy New Year!

A quick follow up on this problem. I had the code read and it is P0130. The auto parts store clerk said it was the heating element in the Bank 1 oxygen sensor that was bad. He said they go bad around 80K, and I should replace both pre-cat sensors since I have around 95K miles on it. My wife also went down to get emissions on it and it failed for high NOx. Their problem sheet said possible causes were a vacuum leak, high combustion pressure, high combustion temperature. What advice do you have? Would a faulty O2 sensor cause higher NOx?
