  1. Battery drain when vehicle sits for over 24 hrs

Problems, Maintenance, and Repair (Gen 3)
Long shot but...is your tailgate properly closed? On my 2004, if the tailgate is slightly ajar (just barely latched but feels fully latched), it tends to drain the battery overnight. Weird thing is that there's no indication on the dash. You could push down on the closed door and it would...

The 2020 Highlander is also based on the TNGA. I would bet that you get at least the first two on your "nice to have" list as they are both on the Highlander.
  3. 2015 Sienna warped rotors for the 4th time???

Problems, Maintenance, and Repair (Gen 3)
Here's what I wrote on another thread (I'm combining two of my posts here and no, I don't work for AZ): My '04 used to chew through rotors and pads. I switched to Autozone's Duralast Gold (high carbon fiber content) and the corresponding Duralast Max ceramic pads. Two years and about 20K later...

I agree - I'm glad that the SE trim will carry on. I just added to the post above to add another link. The second link shows a driver rushing to cover up the van. See pic 9 :)
  5. Front Brakes - Rotor And Pads OEM vs. Aftermarket

Problems, Maintenance, and Repair (Gen 2)
One of my neighbors worked for Autozone for many years. He was working there when Brembo supplied the carbon rotors to AZ which then rebranded it as their own. Originally, demand was much higher than expected, so Brembo rushed out orders and left in their brand name (either in a stamp or...

More shots of the test mule: 2021 Toyota Sienna caught testing in Death Valley The author thinks that the SE is shown and is close to completion. Edit: another link that shows a few more pics (see pic 9 šŸ˜‚): Similar article from Motor1
  7. Front Brakes - Rotor And Pads OEM vs. Aftermarket

Problems, Maintenance, and Repair (Gen 2)
My '04 used to chew through rotors and pads. I switched to Autozone's Duralast Gold (high carbon fiber content) and the corresponding Duralast Max ceramic pads. Two years and about 20K later, I haven't had any issues with brake fade or warped rotors due to overheating. Some things to keep in...

Does Toyo make high-roof vans for other markets? Interesting that they show quite a few of them in the animation starting around the 1:30 mark.
  9. Put 235/70R16 tires on Sienna

    General Discussion (Gen 2)
Good to know that they fit - thanks for sharing. I bought rims from a '92 SC400 but haven't had a chance to swap them yet. Will try them out this Summer.

This may be why Toyo is offering a $3000 rebate on the 2019s in SoCal.

Are you referring to this post and this one? He doesn't say anything about Sienna losing the V6 option. If they lose it (and worse, switch to a CVT), it will be a downgrade, at least for my needs. Not sure about the SE trim. I like it and it's a great upgrade over the LE for not too much...

Maybe we'll get lucky and Toyota will sell a high roof version of the Sienna like the Hiace. This would make a GREAT camper. Hiace will be built on TNGA, so it shouldn't be too hard to build in the U.S.
  13. Anybody have experience with the non-drilled/Slotted Powerstop brakes?

Problems, Maintenance, and Repair (Gen 2)
My '04 would warp rotors like crazy. I eventually bought Duralast Gold Brake Rotors (high carbon steel) and Duralast Gold Pads (ceramic) from Autozone. That finally solved the problem. They perform best when warm, and have had very little fade. About 10K on the new brakes and no problems so...

They're going to widen it a bit? It's already quite wide. This gives me some hope that the rear suspension will be updated as well.

A TRD Sienna with more ground clearance and a revamped rear suspension that doesn't sag easily! This may be a niche that many automakers are overlooking. I like SUVs but a minivan is so much more versatile for a family. Unfortunately though, it's going to cost an arm and leg if it has the TRD...

I agree that the new Toyo redesigns have been pretty decent. I really hope that they fix the rear suspension and increase clearance so that a hitch doesn't drag. We use the hitch for a bike rack and the darn thing sometimes scrapes the ground on gradual slopes, even when the hitch is not...
  18. Leaking steering rack boot?

Problems, Maintenance, and Repair (Gen 2)
In my case, the grease was leaking out the cracked (plastic?) boot on my '04. I replaced both boots with Raqboot (from Australia?). Also swapped out the PS fluid around that time. This was a couple of years ago and no problems 20K miles later.
