  1. spare donut wheel and tire Sienna AWD (tested)

    General Discussion (Gen 3)
Thank you for the photos on the small configuration. I have to admit that this looks awesome. The only concern I have is that the tire diameter is smaller than the original solution posted in this thread, and even that is has a smaller diameter than the regular full-size tire diameter. The...
  2. air circulation a bit warm

    General Discussion (Gen 3)
I looked into this a long time ago. The problem is that the air intake under the windshield is exposed on the bottom side to the engine compartment. When the engine compartment heats up, this heats up the air intake. This is why the problem is predominant related to engine temperature. Now...
  3. spare donut wheel and tire Sienna AWD (tested)

    General Discussion (Gen 3)
I haven't tried the 155/90/17, but I'm afraid the extra 1.2" diameter is going to make it too wide to fit flat in the rear. Even the existing 155/80/17 just barely fits. I'm guessing that if you try to fit it in, the rear hatch won't even close since it is flush with the interior. Or if you...
  4. spare donut wheel and tire Sienna AWD (tested)

    General Discussion (Gen 3)
Re: spare wheel sienna AWD Canadian Tire. Comes in a set of 4. Costs ~$15-20. But I'm sure you can get this from your local automative accessory supplier.
  5. Chinese characters on LE Audio player

    General Discussion (Gen 3)
Hi, can anybody confirm that their LE audio player (USB/CD-ROM) can or cannot display Chinese characters on the display (artist, name)? My 2011 model shows them as "...", but wondering if this is supported in later models.
  6. Anyone try a different size 17" tire (aspect ratio) 225-65-17 vs 235-60-17

    General Discussion (Gen 3)
Well I have the 235/55/18 as stock tires (LE AWD) run-flats which should be pretty close to 235/60/17. For the winter I have 225-65-17. It turns out this is causes the speedometer to read 2km/h less than what it should be (for example if the speedometer reads 100km/h then the actual speed is...
  7. How to remove the headrest of the 3rd row seats

    General Discussion (Gen 3)
There's a pinhole at the release switch. If you press with something sharp then the head rest will come out. The problem is the steel cable attached to the headrest. There doesn't seem a way to remove it except to cut it.
  8. My sound deadening project 2012 Sienna XLE

    Mods and Projects (Gen 3)
Have you thought about adding thermal insulation to the air intake, the side which is facing the engine compartment? (This question is not really related to your thread, but might be a good next item). In the summer the engine compartment warms up the air at the intake, so that even if it is...
  9. spare donut wheel and tire Sienna AWD (tested)

RE: spare tire cover If you're in Canada here's the source: http://www.canadiantire.ca/AST/browse/4/Auto/VehicleAccessories/TireStorage/PRDOVR~1082000P/Xcar+Seasonal+Tire+Covers.jsp?locale=en
  10. Overhead console switches

    General Discussion (Gen 3)
we had this problem after a year. Got worse especially the year after that. one thing is that the problem happens only if the switch has not been activated overnight. So make sure that they try it that first time afterwards. Might help if you insist this is a safety issue, that kids might...
  11. spare donut wheel and tire Sienna AWD (tested)

    General Discussion (Gen 3)
    >T155/80 R17 The specs is good for the tire. But for the wheel, be careful that not all 17 inchers will fit the car even if the wheel is from Toyota. See the note in the first post of this thread. At the worse case you can take the T155/80R17 from an older vehicle and put it on a new wheel...
  12. 2011 Sienna Electronic Freakout

    General Discussion (Gen 3)
Hi, the same symptom can be duplicated as follows: 1. vehicle running and costing to a stop (say 20mph) 2. shut off engine and turn key in the 'on' position (ie. engine not running but all systems on) 3. press on the brake *hard*. At this point your panel will light up with all sorts of lights...
  13. How do you disable VSC and Traction 100%?

    General Discussion (Gen 3)
Have you tried using the shut-off button for traction control? It's to the left of the steering wheel. Holding it down for 5 seconds will also shut off VSC. But you will have to repeat this every time the car is started. Hope this helps.
  14. air circulation a bit warm

    General Discussion (Gen 3)
Hi, I was wondering if anybody else has noticed if the air circulation on their Sienna is a bit warmer than the air outside. I'm guessing maybe 5C-10C warmer. It seems to get worse when the car gets warmer and the sun is beating down on the car. Was driving yesterday with outside temperature of...
  15. Steel rims for LE AWD?

    General Discussion (Gen 3)
The hub-centric wheels are a must. This allows for the best fit and less vibration. The only place I found 17" hub-centric steelies are at the dealership ($90 Toronto). Steelies don't come in 18". Aside: In comparison I found 17" or 18" OEM Toyota hub alloys for a reasonable price surprisingly...
  16. spare donut wheel and tire Sienna AWD (tested)

    General Discussion (Gen 3)
The problem with a full-size spare... First image with just the donut-spare which fits perfectly on the bottom of the trunk and almost unnoticable. Second image shows that the full-size tire cannot fit flat in the trunk probably due to a combination of larger tire in 2011, and added brackets...
  17. New tires, replacing run-flats on nearly new 2011 Limited

    General Discussion (Gen 3)
    >A 2005 compact spare fits in a 2011 rear well - barely. No a 2005 compact wheel doesn't work. I tried that already in the 2011 rear. I might mount but the wheel won't turn due to the large calipers. >A 2011 compact spare should be about one inch taller, but I have still not seen an answer to...
  18. New tires, replacing run-flats on nearly new 2011 Limited

    General Discussion (Gen 3)
Apparently the donut spare tire and rim fits behind the third row and is tested to work with 2011 AWD. See this thread: http://www.siennachat.com/forum/index.php?topic=3223.0
  19. New tires, replacing run-flats on nearly new 2011 Limited

    General Discussion (Gen 3)
Hi, there are some discussions on having a compact-spare tire (with pictures) in this thread. Best of luck. http://www.siennachat.com/forum/index.php?topic=3223.0
  20. What do you do with small scratches?

    General Discussion (Gen 3)
If it's not that deep (as you say) then you can remove the scratch from the clearcoat using a polish. Start by using a regular car wax and rubbing it repeatedly; if the clearcoat scratch persists use a polish (any car polish will do).
