  1. Problems, Maintenance, and Repair (Gen 3)
I am ready to replace both left and right control arms on the front suspension of my 2013 Sienna. This is necessary as the rubber bushings are deteriorating and allow the control arm to move and make loud popping noises. This morning I looked over the situation for removing the old arms and all...

So I replaced my pads, and during greasing of the front caliper bolts, noticed that one of them had a bushing or washer that wouldn't stay in place - it had split (think these were the front bottom caliper bolts) When I look at rockauto - I don't see the bushing / washer that slides down the...

I am trying to replace the front valve cover gasket on my 2005. The procedure has been documented in other threads except for one detail regarding the bolts [as far as i can tell]. There are approximately 6 to 8 10mm cover bolts and 2 or 3 that look like a stud with an inverted torx head on...

I have all the parts to replace the muffler on my 07, it appears that the muffle is held on with two bolts that thread into a flange. There is a lot of rust from road salt on the parts, i'm concerned about breaking if off. Any tips besides heat and penetrating oil?

Hi guys, any of you see this suggested service item when you bring the van in? I've checked the service schedules and don't ever see this mentioned, cash grab? It's the final item listed.

hi everyone. this is my first post but i've been a member for a while now, just lurking ;) . I have a questions for the experts here. I just replaced my rear shocks with KYB Excel G. It came with installations hardware and bushings. When I removed the old shock I noticed that some bolts that...

;D Greeting fellow sienna owners, I have a 2005 xle awd limited and Im at 158,000km and need to change the timing belt. So after resourcing the forum and reading the #1 pitfall is the RH lower engine mounting bracket Bolts. It sounds as though the mounting bolt(S) break or strip the...

Going to a 3x drain/fill on my transmission fluid soon as well as change the filter and add a magnefine filter to our 09 Sienna. I see the drain plug is 36 ft/lbs but cant seem to find the torque for the pan bolts. Also, do you tighten the pan bolts like a tire, across from each other and...

  12. Towing & Hauling
Hi everyone. Hopefully this post makes sense. I have a 2008 Sienna FWD and I am trying to get a hitch installed at the local Uhaul. The installer said two of the six bolts are tapered on some Toyotas (including mine). So he can't complete the installation unless I order the OEM bolts and bring...

Just made a deal over the phone (Craigslist) to purchase a used Curt 13256, plus wiring kit, for $90. The only thing about it is he said he's leaving the bolts on his van. Who knows why. Am I missing anything super critical by not getting the official install kit? I'd rather buy new bolts...
