  1. General Discussion (Gen 4)
Sheetz has Unleaded 88 for only $1.99 till Thanksgiving. I drive a 2004 Sienna LE. I’ve seen people saying that vehicles 2001 and newer can use it, but I wanted to make sure before I kill my car. Anyone able to help? Thanks!
  2. Problems, Maintenance, and Repair (Gen 2)
Hi. I recently purchased an 07 brain wheelchair conversion Sienna. When we purchased, it had about 1/3 of a tank left per the fuel gauge. Driving home I clicked over on the overhead computer and saw the DTE was not appearing to align at all with the fuel gauge. At time 1/4 tank left on gauge...

Is there any way to test a gas cap to see if it is the cause of the evap check engine code? Is the cap supposed to seal the system airtight? I don't want to just go buy another one if I don't need it, besides, we're pretty far from the parts store. Thanks
  4. Mods and Projects (Gen 3) I just found it in China Taobao. It is 70yuan(12USD) and attached with tape. I could not find any photo with Sienna, but could find one with Highlander. So you can refer to attached photos.

My Sienna 2008 has started showing check engine lights at 80K miles. I noticed that if I open and close the gas cap it goes away and comes back after 30 mins of driving or so. Could this be related to gas cap or just that check engine lights get reset sometimes by such action Please help

Picking up our new 2014 Seinna this week wondering how people are doing with the gas mileage Len.
  9. General Discussion (Gen 3)
Hello All, I am currently the happy owner of FWD 2007 Sienna LTD. We get about 20MPG combined. Since we need an AWD car for the winter (weekend ski trips to the mountains with the kids) and our current SUV (Lexus GX470) gives us 16 MPG mixed, i am thinking about selling the 07 FWD Sienna and...
  10. General Discussion (Gen 2)
My 05 sienna has been having the usual check engine light, vsc, and trac off lights on. From this forum clearing the codes and opening and closing the cap works when I clear the codes for a couple of days. So my question is would you replace the gasket or the whole cap and gasket? If you would...

Hi, i recently purchased a 2008 Sienna XLE with ~105k and my wife and I love it. However, there are few issues that I'm experiencing that I dont think its normal and I would like to get to the bottom of this. 1. When I'm in cruise control doing 60mph and disengage the CC the rpms will drop...

I have had a 2014 Sienna for a little over a month. When the Distance Till Empty (DTE) display shows close to zero, there are still about 5 gallons in the tank. The specs say the vehicle holds 20.9 gallons, but the electronics effectively reduce that by 25%. The dealer said nothing could be...

Admittedly I have a cycling (bicycle) habit. We currently own a 2000 Odyssey and use a 2" receiver with a Yakima Hold-up for four bicycles on the rear, plus 1 or 2 more on the top plus a Yakima box for extra gear. It has served us well. But the old Gray Mare is getting long in the tooth. We are...

Admittedly I have a cycling (bicycle) habit. Everywhere we go we haul at least 5 bikes. We currently own a 2000 Odyssey and use a 2" receiver with a Yakima Hold-up on the back plus 2 more on the top plus a Yakima box for extra gear. It has served us well. But the old Gray Mare is getting...
  15. General Discussion (Gen 3)
Hi all, I just picked up a Black 2013 SE. I was wondering what type of gas do you fill with? Stick with regular 87 octane? 89/91 Octane? I was curious if you get better mileage with a higher octane fuel and if it is safe for the engine to run with anything higher than 87. Thanks, Longair

2001 Sienna will not idle, shuts off, need to depress the gas pedal or it just dies. Please advise.

Major improvement in gas mileage accomplished by 5 minute procedure - 2004 sienna In recent years, I noticed that the highway mileage on my 2004 Sienna dropped significantly from 24 to 25 miles per gallon down to 21 to 22 miles per gallon. To correct this I did a number of maintenance...
  18. Problems, Maintenance, and Repair (Gen 3)
Recently my Sienna's gas door stays partially open. It is about 1/4" open and won't "catch" when I push on it. I checked the under dash release lever and it seems OK. I'm guessing something broke or the cable loosened but before I dig into it I am asking if anyone else had this problem. I am...
  19. General Discussion (Gen 3)
Hi guys, do you also hear the gas tank sloshing sound when the tank is all the way full to until down to 3/4 full or so? I'm trying to ignore it knowing that its not gonna harm anything but sometimes it's annoying. Does toyota also try to save on some gas tank baffles nowadays? If I'm the only...

I have been reading that there should be a vacuum sound when the cap is removed, say when tanking up. I dont really believe this since the *** valve(vent in air cleaner) is open when the car is off. Any thoughts on this.
