Want to get rid of the chrome handles. Has anyone removed their chrome or painted their chrome door handles? Any advice welcomed.

My se 2012 has painted exterior door handles...however i noticed in my 2014 brochure that it shows the se with chrome handles in some pictures and painted in others...? While on the road i notice the same some do some dont was it an option?
