  1. General Discussion (Gen 2)
I have 2004 Toyota Sienna CE and wanted to change the Spark Plugs by myself. Is anybody has step-by-step or link that I can follow? Dealership is charging me $300 plus. The Plugs have never been changed when I bought as new. Thanks

I have recently got myself a Sienna and I'm unsure how old the spark plugs are. It has 150000 miles on it and before I embark on getting those back 3 plugs out I just thought I would ask what brand the original plugs were from the factory. The ones that are in now are NGK iridium.

The car (2000 Sienna LE) turns over but won't start. I have a decent charge on the battery, I can also smell gas when after I've been turning it over for a bit. I recently changed out the plugs and wires using 1 to 4, 5 to 2 and 3 to 6 (1,3,5 being bank closes to bulkhead and 2,4,6 being...

I recently changed out the plugs and wires using 1 to 4, 5 to 2 and 3 to 6 (1,3,5 being bank closes to bulkhead and 2,4,6 being closest to radiator). I also changed the timing belt which was syncing up when I would rotate it by hand. I noticed there are timing marks on the cover, does anyone...

I just changed the spark plugs and the spark plug wires on my 1998 sienna and I might have crossed the wires going to the ignition coils. Can any one tell me which spark plugs shares which ignition coil because I am getting an intermittent misfire on #3 and #6 spark plugs. I appreciate your help!

These are two of the 6 spark plugs I just took out from my 02 Sienna. These plugs (Denso SK20R11) are <3000 miles old (or say young?) What can you tell, for the engine, by looking at them in the pictures? Thanks.
  9. Problems, Maintenance, and Repair (Gen 3)
I purchased a 2015 Sienna LE a week ago. I noticed both the driver & passenger doors have plugs of some sort in two of the three weep holes in the door bottoms. I'm wondering if they put the plugs in there at the factory for some manufacturing reason and they (or the dealer) just forgot to...

Hi, those of you who have done thsi mod, how did you make the connection? The stock horns have one wire each with a male plug that has a blade type connecter while the Hella horns have two. Are the stock horn connectors polarity sensitive? Lastly, any place to source the Toyota female horn...

Here's our situation: We drive a Sienna 06 and are on vacation in Orlando. We arrived here with no issues, but on restating the van a few days later it was "shaky" when driving. We took it to a car care center and they said it was a severe spark plug misfire on #4, and that we needed new plugs...

Anyone ever change plugs on an 09 Sienna?? Where do you start to DIY? MBoyd

I want to let a basic mechanic do this. The one I like services all cars. He only changed me like $75 to replace the front brake pads and rotors, which I supplied him. But I don't consider him a top-notch mechanic whom I would go to for a difficult diagnosis and problem. I also read that...

Hi, I just changed my 3.3l V6 Sienna spark plugs at 120,000 miles. I got a guide here for a 2007 CE which was well written and very helpful but there was enough difference in the 3.3 vs. 3.5 l engine that I thought I would put together a guide to help someone else doing the same job. The...

It's about time for me to do a plug replacement 150,000 (kinda late) So im just wondering recommendations for replacement plugs. On my matrix i used the iridium plugs. Should i just get OEM or any other recommendations. Also anyone have install instructions for 08 sienna?
  17. Sienna Care & Maintenance
2008 Sienna with the 3.5L. Wow...Replacing the spark plugs has to be one of the most difficult things I have done to a vehicle. The head gasket on my civic was easier (but took more time). Anyone who says that this job can be done without removing the intake plenum or windshield cowl either...

These are my notes for changing the 3 rear spark plugs on the 2004 Toyota Sienna. The approach that I took to create access to the rear plugs was to remove the air filter top and the throttle body which are connected together by short lengths of "fan-folded" rubber air channels. Having completed...

This weekend I changed the wires, boots and spark plugs on my 2000 Sienna. It has around 305,000 miles and so far no problems. After changing the wires and spark plugs, I took it for a test ride; everything worked fine; when I got home I parked in the driveway; left the key in the ignition in...
