I recently upgrade the Nav unit up front (Found an E7006 for $100!) and would like to do the rear audio upgrade for the kids. I'm assuming the cable up there for the audio is different than the stock cable for the vans with DVD. Is there a plug and play option for this? Front nav upgrade info was in abundance, but rear dvd upgrade has been hard to find.

Alternatively, would i be better off two just get an aftermarket unit? I would like to retain the 2 zone audio function. Thank you in advance.

I bought a 2004 Sienna which had only rear audio (no navigation).
I pulled it out and found these 2 unused, wrapped plugs (red/dark gray).
I hope this helps answer the question.

I have my own question to post next.

UPDATE: I Was told by Toyota that the cables mentioned MUST be after market (seller must have the-installed original dual audio prior to resale).

my conclusion is that it is cost prohibitive to install a factory DVD player in a van not originally wired for one. Conversion from dual audio, for example, if NOT feasible (see diagram to follow).

The ONLY reason to buy a factory DVD would be to replace an existing one. For all others, aftermarket is you best plan.
