I did. I downloaded the fancy unzipper, as win-zip doesn't do this compression. Clicking on either autorun or index will open the document browser-style, but running active-x from a site linked to RU sites doesn't give me a warm feeling! I'm looking for a simple .pdf document with less interactivity and less risk to my laptop! That is where I stopped. Call me conservative, but I've seen what can happen!

No kidding

I have not downloaded this particular version, but I do have a version which another member was kind enough to send to me on CD. In that one, the HTML index file uses an ActiveX control, but it is entirely unnecessary. I edited the HTML file(s) to remove the use of ActiveX, and it works fine. (I also fixed the path specification to work relative to the index file location, so it works from anywhere is it copied, rather than only in the root of the drive where it is located). It is nice that people have helpfully assembled the manual, but that doesn't mean they are well-qualified technically. It's not really my expertise, either, so someone else may want to look at this particular distribution's index/table of contents files and propose an improvement.

These manual collections are normally a large number of PDF files because that is how the material is presented by the Toyota Information System; someone has tediously waded through the material and downloaded each section as a file. Something like the full version of Acrobat is needed to properly concatenate the many files into one PDF, and even then I don't know how the table of contents would work... and I have not tried it.

I'm in the process of giving it a try. I have Acrobat but hardly use it, so I'm largely unskilled. Nothing like trying it out to learn! Today I converted a few hundred pages and labeled them by section. After I get a large enough block done, I'll try combining sections and see if I can create a new interactive table. The biggest headache is that the page numbers become jumbled due to the multiple duplicate file names that are themselves not in alphabetical order. I'm spending most of my time reordering pages.

If I ever get it running, maybe I can donate it back to Siennachat. I owe you guys something for all that I have learned here!

Open index1.html and you'll see a page with simple links to PDF files without any active control.
Enjoy!

Odd - I see the file index.html but not index1.html

I’m in the process of restructuring the manual for my use as a semi-searchable PDF that does not require any active-X or web page involvement. I’m also adding in a variety of stuff from other sources to make it a more complete single document, and more applicable to my 2008 with the 2GR-FE engine. It would be nice if there was simply a more up to date manual out there, but this appears to be the best there is.

As you may have seen, the ‘sections’ don’t appear to be all there, at least from a sequential section numbering standpoint. It runs up to 99, but there are under 50 sections visible. Page-wise, the manual goes up to around 3500 and most are there except two big missing chunks. Thinking I might have accidently deleted them, I’ve download & unzipped it twice, but everything seems to match.

Missing pages are from Section 5 – Diagnostics:

Pages 1 to 343 which look to be engine related

Pages 634 to 757 which I think are HVAC & Power Steering

Could someone verify whether they can see them?

Looks you are writing about other version of the manual, not about one I posted in the first post of this thread.

A manual I posted has index1.html file (OK, you could accidentally delete it).
Diagnostic section has number 4 in index.html file but number 5 in index1.html file. You wrote you don't have this file (but have Section 5 -- Diagnostic.)

See the attached screenshots to see how index.html and index1.html looks in the manual I posted.

OK - I'm starting to understand. There are a half dozen editions of this 2005 manual out there, and all are slightly different. I had trouble connecting to the server where the 2005_Sienna_Repair_Manual_7z was, so I went to an alternate source. My alternate didn't have index1 file.

Last night I finally got into your listed site. It took almost 2 hours to get it, but I now see what you mention. Index1 file does allow viewing any of the nearly 1000 individual .pdf files, typically 2-5 pages at a time, without having to use Active X. I thank you for that!!

So, about the missing files. Still an issue, unfortunately. If you open index1, you will see that Section 5 is Diagnostics. It is hard to easily see what is missing, as the topics are in alphabetical order, rather than in manual page order. But missing is subsection topic "SFI", which is diagnostic section pages 1 to 343, and the "Air Conditioning System", which is diagnostic section pages 634 to 757. You will find that if you go by topics, the Tire Pressure Warning System, beginning on Page 344 is the lowest page in that section. At the top is says 05-344, on the bottom it says 527 (the sequence page beginning from Section 1, first page). If you go to Section 3 (Service Specs), the last page is 03-70, and at the bottom is says 183. Missing is from 183 to 527, or exactly 344 sheets => the engine diagnostic section 'SFI'. For me, this probably isn't a big deal as I have the 2GR engine which has it's own diagnostics in another manual site.

Guys, I am actually trying to help someone with an AC duct temperature anomaly - 2007 manual system (I suspect that the air door servo is malfunctioning), but could really use the missing section from the shop manual:

"Air Conditioning System" - Diagnostic Manual (section 5) pages 634 to 757. This is one of the parts missing from the manuals available on-line. Anyone have a link to it?

Is this file hosted somewhere else besides the two on the OP thread? The first link is taking forever and the second link after I click on the link sent to my email when I click on Download it tells me file unavailable.

The 2005 A/C files in TIS are broken up one per section. Here are the sections.

Thanks for the index. I believe that the issue I'm trying to assist with is related to the air mix damper servo and the actual physical linkage into the AC/Heater box. This is over on another board that I occasionally haunt. Long story short, their '07 LE model is suddenly acting as though it has the split drivers/passenger individual temp control. Hotter on the left, but cold on the right with the AC on. This makes more sense than it might sound, as if you go to one of the dealer sites with the exploded diagrams, most of the hardware buried in the dash is identical between models, with the exception that the XLE has two air mix servos - one on each side.

My assumption is that the LE with only one servo must work both dampers within the essentially identical split box, and that the dampers are probably connected by a common shaft or a linkage that is broken/slipping allowing full control of the right, but relaxed control of the left.

The XLE/Lmt system has some extra sensors and controls that are actuated by the LCD control panel, but the LE/CE control is still all electronic - no cables or levers. In the end, both act upon almost the identical hardware under the dash. Another case of not much more than feature programming that separates the models. So if all they show in the diagnostic section is the upgraded model, one can ignore some of the extra features and still follow the fault diagnostics flow.

I have a 2007 LE with the 3.5 engine. I've got the dreaded P0031 code and would like to attempt to fix this myself instead of paying $500+ that the dealer wants. I think 2007 was the first year of the 3.5 engine, so would this manual be appropriate for me?

If not, does anyone know where I can find a repair manual for a 2007?

Thanks,
-Nick

Upper oxygen sensor..... Bank 1, sensor 1. The rear A-F ratio sensor just down from the exhaust manifold. Of course the one most difficult to get to!

You are correct in that you'll need additional information not contained in the earlier Sienna manual. Unfortunately, there doesn't seem to be a complete edition for later models after the 2007 face-lift and revised drivetrain. The best that I could find was this 2GR-FE engine and electronics section from a similar year Camry, and I have details posted at the link below. You'll have to go back and forth between them to make sure you cover all deltas.

While much of the 2005 manual is applicable to a 2007, the part that isn't is that for the engine... which of course is the only part you need.

The legitimate source is to subscribe to the Toyota Information System for a day and download all of the relevant sections.

I took the manual and combined all the pages together in one .pdf, with all the chapters as bookmarks. Here's the link to the file:

https://drive.google.com/file/d/0By5v5bH_DCBbZS1oOFpNd2M4dnc/edit?usp=sharing

It helps a lot with the searching and keeping everything together.

I did leave out the owner's manual, body repair (collision stuff) and navigation manual as I have those in hard copy in the van glove compartment.
