Hi - My 2011 Sienna SE has these black, accordian style trim pieces that go on the driver and passenger side of the sunroof. I've seen youtube videos where when the sunroof pops up, these accordian upward with the roof with the apparent purpose of reducing wind.

Both have come off the hard plastic sliding piece that connects to the sunroof. They don't seem to want to stay on as the rubber has softened over the years.

My inclination is to leave them off. I don't think it will hurt anything, but I wanted to ask the Sienna Chat forum for advice. They don't appear to affect the operation of the sunroof in any significant way.

Would welcome and appreciate comments if you agree/disagree with discarding and not replacing them. Our van has 210K plus miles, so not interested in spending on repairs that aren't critical.

I've only had my van a few months, but my accordion parts basically came off when I test drove it. They've been in the door pocket ever since. I think I will try to reattach them one day just to see if they make any difference, but it's not a concern yet. Looks like I will need to glue them. They don't grip the front of the opening well enough by themselves.
