Just want to share little mod that make your DRL stay on while using turn signal on 2015 SE or Limited. Personally, i hate the DRL going on and off when chaning lane. This mod only take you around 5 mins(removing pin) or 10 sec(cut the wire). Just remove yellow or brown wire in your DRL 4 wires connector and done.

I won't do it if I were you. It's a federal guideline regarding safety. This is not only with Toyota but with all other newer vehicles equipped with LED DRL's.

"Audi of America, which offers LED daytime running lights on all its models, says that the LEDs turn off when a turn signal activates because federal regulations say that no lights that are brighter than the turn signals can be on at the same time during daylight hours, which could prevent other drivers and pedestrians from noticing that a turn signal is on."

On the Audis, you can still program them to stay on with a VAG tool. Wonder if you can do the same for the Toyota.
Yes. That's illegal so do it at your own risk, just like installing aftermarket HID into halogen headlight.
We actually did the upgrade to the '15 lights as well and we actually went a step further. We had the drl stay on the whole time at 100% full on mode even at signals. We also have mirror leds so if the oncoming traffic dont see your turning signals then you shoudlnt be driving. IMO the leds do not outshine the turning signals als because theyre different colors. Wanna make the ambers even brighter? Vleds.com and get the tritons v3's... Thanks me later :)

I don't think its a federal law. 2014+ Acura MDX (Jewel style DRL), 2013+ LS460, Mercedes-Benz G-Class, BMW...etc they all don't turn off the LED DRL (or even dim) when you use the turn signal...
How hard was it to wire the '15 lights to your car? I want to upgrade but I was worried that it's going to take a lot of rewiring.

My understanding is that, the guideline applies to vehicles with the turn signals very close to the DRL's. My observation to the vehicles you pointed out is that their turn signal location are far apart that even with the DRL's are turned on, the turn signal visibility is not compromised.
I doubt that the new LED DRL on the Sienna would have conflicted with the front turn signals if the front turn signals had remained on the outboard sides of the headlights as they still are on the L/LE/XLE. The attached photo shows one of the viewing angles where glare from the LED DRL seems to partially obscure a front turn signal which, of course, was why the DRL was designed to shut off when signaling. To make matters worse, the inboard front turn signals are essentially directional, forward facing as opposed to the outboard front turn signals which to some extent can be seen from those driving alongside. The inboard turn signals are OK for the Limited since it has turn signal mirrors but the SE does not have turn signal mirrors.
The sienna's OEM turn signal mirrors does not project it's light forward - meant to be visible from the side and back. At night, you can barely notice the turn signal mirrors when looking at it from the front and how much more during day time.

Hi Cape,

Was this difficult to do? Could you kindly share how to do this?

TIA
I think the green wire from the 4 pin drl connector was trigger wire to dimmer the drl at night so u can try to de-pin for 100% brightness all the time.
