The symptom is that when I push down the switch button, the hazard lights don't flash although the little lamp inside the button is still lit up when the engine is running. The turn signal lights can work just fine.

The problem started a few hours after I accidentally spilled some water around the switch button. The emergency flashers suddenly started flashing by themselves during driving at night. Pushing the button couldn't turn them off. Even turning off the engine couldn't turn the flashers off. So I disconnected the battery. On the morning of the day after, when I reconnected the battery, the flashers stopped flashing. However, the switch button couldn't turn them back on any more.

Any idea how to fix this problem? Looking forward to your advices.

Before you go spending any money at all why dont you just remove the switch, blow it out, and give it a shot of some WD-40 or dielectric grease and see if that gets it working properly again first.
And was it just water only that spilled or was it anything else at all? Just seems odd that only water did all that. I left my window down once before a rain storm and poured so hard, there was a pool of water in my door handle. I did use the compressor to blow it out fairly quickly but I still never had the type of problems you are having.

Yes. It was just water, bottled spring water. Thanks for looking into the matter! I just realized that the little lamp inside the button can still light up so I edited my first post. I'll try to remove and clean the switch button but need instructions on how to do that. Any idea where I may find them?

You didnt say what year yours is and there are dash changes even in the same gen so just go on youtube and search something like stereo removal for your year since that will show how to remove pieces from around the center of the dash. It honestly shouldnt take you more than about 5 minutes since most of those pieces just snap into place.

It's 2017. Thank you and I found the following video at Youtube and it's helpful. I just ordered a pry tool as shown in the video for body trim removal and will let you know how things go after I receive it.

You can use a small slot screw driver on the trim pieces, just go slow so you dont scratch anything but yes, those plastic tools are awesome.
And yes, post back how you make out. If you fix it at least you might end up helping someone else down the road with a similar issue.

Sure. I received the pry tool and disassembled the bezel as shown in the video. After a few steps, I got the electronics assembly in front of me now as shown in the picture. Any idea how to detach the emergency flasher switch from here? Looking forward to your advice.

Can you flip it over and post a pic of whats on the back side of the assembly? Usually these things snap into place or have a screw that holds them.
Absolutely. Here you are. You are right that there is screw near the center. I tried removing the screw and the bottom half of the circuit board became loose but the other half seemed to be still sticky via the multi-pin connector at the top.

Wow, that is weird how its all into 1 board.
Is there no lock tabs on the side of the switch that you can release?
Does the board snap together to the front side of all the connectors?

Exactly. I was shocked on seeing that. No, I don't see any lock tabs on the side of the switch that I can release. But the board doesn't seem to snap together to all the connectors on the front side as after I removed the screw near the center, the bottom half of the board became loose but the top part was still stuck.
