New thread for 2022 model prices paid

Please copy/paste and fill out the following details:

  • Price Paid (out of the door):
  • Add-ons (if any):

Why base + destination?
Taxes and fees vary from city to city and the only way to get a proper comparison is to use the pre-tax and fees cost. Destination is the same regardless of where you buy so it's part of the core cost.

Trim: Plat
FWD or AWD: AWD
Price Paid (base + destination): 54,418
Price Paid (out of the door): 54,418 + 500 destination + 270 license and registration + tax - trade
Add-ons (if any): RES and inverter 1,915, all weather liners 220, body mouldings 209, cargo tray 99
Exterior Color: Gray
Interior Color: Brown
Date Purchased: 10-20
State and region: Mass.

Paid MSRP but did not get student discount or TFS 500 cash back despite financing. Also, had to have a trade and had to settle on 1600 below my next lowest offer (had carvana offer of 2500 over what I traded it in for).

It looks like they gave you the MSRP but they required a trade in offering a significantly lower price than market. It is a form of a markup!!

It would be great if they post a picture too...

I am here to report. Picked up a 2022 Sienna XLE in Cypress Green with Chateau interior today, 1200 miles away from my home state.

Price Paid: 39850+1215. (MSRP)
Factory Installed options: Asked dealer to remove but was told impossible to make changes. $570, Roof Rail, Cross Bar, Floor Mats
Other fees: Doc fees-599, a bit steep; TTL $xxxx the car will be registered to my home state. Air ticket one way from DFW to LAS, $28; 3 nights of Hotels: $300; gas money...

I am very thankful that Autonation Toyota las vegas did not try to charge markup or force any dealer addons as all of the 18 dealerships around are doing at this time.

I began researching everyday on autotrader, all kinds of dealership website since July, all 2021 were being sold above MSRP so i thought why not wait for 2022? Turned out to be a long wait. Didnt expect Toyota to not accept custom orders until this point. (2022 models/prices showed up on toyota website on Sep 22nd) Long story short, I came across a green XLE 2022 on autotrader on Oct 16th, called the dealer before (as usual) their even open and left messages. To my surprise, it is still available, so i finalized on the prices and asked dealer to remove options, they said options were factory installed.

Anyway, I put $1000 down the next day and found out the car was being built the next day. Fast forward to today, three weeks after i placed my deposit, I found myself on a plane to Vegas with cashier check of 44k. (wife insisted on cashier check because she knew i would lose it all to casinos if i bring cash lol) Now it is a long drive back to Plano, what a time to be alive, thanks Covid.

Congrats..please post a picture of your Cypress Sienna...I'm interested in that color. How you like it?

The factory floor mats is annoying me. I told them when I ordered the Sienna to remove those mats because I wanted to use the 3W mats. They said that they would remove them. However after it was built they sent me the build and it was included. I asked why the floor mats were there and if they could be removed. Long story short I have to keep them and they will charge me full price for them. This feels like a sneaky move with Toyota dealers.

I paid MSRP for an XLE with plus package + entertainment package (ended up being about $46k). I got about $3k over value for my trade in..... and my trade in also had an oil burning issue that the dealer didn't know about that would cost another $4k to fix lol.

One thing that pissed me off is the finance guy pulled a fast one on me and forced me to buy an extra year of maintenance because "it is free when you finance through Toyota." What he actually did was just apply the $500 credit that I would have gotten toward that, not informing me that I could just take that as a credit without purchasing anything else. Kind of scummy... thinking about reporting this.

I hope the dealer won't force me to buy an extended warranty...it will be money wasted for me as I only drive 4000 to 5000 a year. I only have 37,000 miles on my current car after 9 years of use.

Just got my XLE and the dealer was charging double of these rates (NorCal). How do I buy this warranty? I’m still under factory warranty (8 miles on the van). I’m willing to give my money to another dealer/state if it means this much savings…

Cypress XLE AWD. Mid Atlantic. No packages, but did include a couple add ons like roof rails and carpet floor mats and a cargo tray and a first aid kit, all of which were beyond my control.

Paid MSRP, which ended up like this:
  • $41,850 XLE AWD base price
  • $494 accessories
  • $1,215 delivery/processing/handling
So, $43,559 MSRP. Tax, tags, and title pushed it to $46,900 out the door.

All in all, very happy. I had to drive an hour to get this price but that's nothing compared to some of the stories I've read about flying a couple states away. Prices in my city all had a markup - some seemed reasonable ($1500) and others insane (a local dealer is pricing FWD LEs for $48K, and higher trims with even more or a markup).

This one kind of fell in my lap, too - this guy was the very first salesperson I spoke to a month ago, but at the time he didn't have anything to sell because all the allotments were spoken for. However someone decided not to buy their Sienna and had their deposit refunded, so he and his coworkers had a contest to see who could sell it the fastest. He called me first and the rest is history.

I still have a deposit on a other van, just because I didn't want to put all my eggs into one basket. I gotta call this other salesperson up and break his heart tomorrow.

Sunnyvale Toyota...2022 MSRP w/no dealer add-ons or markup. Deposit in September and had the van by Thanksgiving...I was offered a few 7-passenger high trims and woodlands while I waited for my 8 passenger high trim.

7 passenger woodland/XSE/LE and high trims were available much sooner. Ask for Amir...he is the internet sales person who helped me.

There shouldn't be a minimum. But if they tell you there is, just finance the whole thing to get the $500 and pay off what you need. It looks good on the credit report too, to pay off a higher amount loan, for what it's worth.

The standard toyota APR seems to be 3.99% on the Sienna for 60 months. Places online like Penfed are 1.99% and BofA was able to give me 1.59%, so I'm not going to take the $500 since I plan on paying off the car over 60 months especially at 1.59%, it's free money, even if I can pay off the whole car at once.

Finally scored a 2022 Sienna Woodland in Cement. I put down a deposit in mid-Nov for an XSE AWD or Woodland at a local dealership that sells at MSRP. They gave me no timeline of delivery just said we’ll call you when we get one that matches your request. After a month, no delivery estimate so I get impatient and start calling more dealerships in Nor Cal as well as So Cal (Longo and Carlsbad). Some said 2 months wait, and some said up to 6 month wait. About a week goes by and Toyota Sunnyvale calls to let me know a customer who ordered a Woodland backed out and I was next in line. The car was on the lot with just 4 miles and I was able to get it for 500 under MSRP ($500 TFS rebate, 47.5K before taxes). This is our family’s first new car in 15 years we are absolutely loving it. It will take some time to learn all the features.

If you are still looking, be persistent and check with other dealerships as they may have some cancellations. If this helps anyone here in CA here are the dealerships that I came across that sell at MSRP: Toyota Sunnyvale, Marin, Hayward, Walnut Creek, One Toyota Oakland, and Longo,

Here are others with dealer markups or add ons: Fremont, Salinas, Vacaville and Tracy.

Good luck and Happy Holidays!

Just took delivery of a Woodland in Cement in the Seattle area at MSRP. I contacted pretty much every dealer in Washington state and northern Oregon, and placed a deposit at Doxon Toyota in mid-October and scored a Woodland allocation a few days later (apparently there wasn't a line for Woodlands).

I was hesitant to celebrate early in case of dealer markups or shenanigans, but it ended up being real.

I have received quot of $45,849 + TTL for EXL with Bench seat and FWD. Total OTD price is 49,153. Toyota website MSRP for EXL is $41,200. Price is inflated by $5000. is it a good deal.

I paid deposit of $300 for Telluride EX with OTD price of $42,000. But i have 4 months waiting period with it. Otherwise, Telluride is better specked and enough savings to cover gas difference with Hybrid.

I don’t think so. just a few days ago we saved 10/12k supporting a dealer that survives selling at msrp.
2022 awd platinum $50.760. Same price as advertised …
We had a 2016 Kia that left me on the side of I80 in flames with a hole in the block the size of my fist. Glad it didn’t happen to my wife. You might consider re sale of your car in however many years you plan on keeping your investment. Ours went for $32.00 to pick and pull.

Is $1500 total for both dealer markup + add ons?

$1500 seems to be the average markup I came across when searching for new Sienna in Northern CA. Others that did not have dealer markup had $1500 in dealer adds ons (Paint protection, etc). Have you tried expanding your search? There may be a dealership selling at MSRP with no dealer add ons.

I approached 2 dealers today. one dealer gave me quote with $4500 over MSRP for 2 vehicles (XLE FWD). Sent me a sold out message when i contacted again for test drive. Another dealer has XLE listed for MSRP as final price on their website. But then started talking about add on's. Told me sold out later in the day when i was ready to go there for test drive. Looks like Cars are just flying off the lot.
