2025 Toyota Sienna - power door and back seat alarm issues?

I just found this site. Thanks for being here. Like others, I am having trouble with the passenger doors not working if the vehicle sits for awhile. The dealership said that I need to turn off the power and manually close them in that case. The power gets shut off from the door motors to prevent the battery from running down. My other challenge is the back seat passenger alarm system. I have dogs that travel with me and I need for the alarm to not go off should I leave them in the car while going in a store. I had an event today. I have shut the alarm off on my phone but it looks like I need to do the same in the car. I also read that locking the doors from the inside and not from the fob might also work.

The back power door issue is well known. The fix is, as your dealer said, to turn off the power function, manually close the doors, then turn the power function back on.

The "Advanced" Rear Seat Reminder is what you need to turn off in the app (Not to be confused with the original "Rear Seat Reminder" which still exists, but is un-related.

You may or may not have the menu item in the van. I did originally, but after having the van at the dealership to have the front sensors realigned after a deer hit, requiring a software update, the menu item was no longer there.

If you still have it, it is located here:

From the DIC (Behind the steering wheel) scroll to the gear icon (if not already there) and hit "OK". Scroll to "Vehicle settings" and hit and hold "OK" until it changes to the new menu list. Scroll down to "Advanced Rear Seat Reminder" (again, not to be confused with the original "Rear Seat Reminder" which will also be in the menu list). If it is there, hit "OK" after highlighting it. Turn off everything just like you did in the app.
