Planning to tap into the fuse box and set up the 24 hours parking monitor. Wondering if anyone has done this already? Which fuse did you tap into?

thank you

Where will the device be installed? Engine compartment? If so, there’s a couple of hots in the fuse box unused. Just connect a female My concern is how to run the wire out.

it will be the aftermarket digital rear view mirror, so I’m looking for the fuse box either on the driver side or passenger side. Thanks!
There’s a fuse box on the driver side, nearby behind the OBD port. There’s already a standard wire harness in the rear view mirror. There’s a discussion topic, search for dash cam, or something similar. Though not sure if it’s “constant on.”

My concern on connecting a device that’s always on, it would drain the battery. There’s a tendency for the 12v batt to drain quickly.

This happened to me. With the vehicle in ACC mode, it drained 5 minutes into the second 20 min cycle. I was only listening to the radio.

There’s too much electronics drawing current.

Agreed - I wouldn't want an always-on device. Maybe look for a solution with a battery pack, if you're that worried. (like a battery powered security camera - tons of options now-a-days)
What will you do if you catch a _ attempt, though? Insurance covers theft and damage. Looking for police data? Vigilante?
Never seemed worth the hassle for me.
Not sure what you’re asking about in your first question. However, at this time, I’m not interested in any security devices. Maybe an OEM style integrated dash cam installed in the rear view. AliExpress has them. Otherwise search on this forum.

I’m working on upgrading my horn and was working to find constant power. Wish you well.
There’s already a harness up above the overhead console that is for the factory dashcam. It has ground, constant 12V and switched 12V. Yank the overhead console down at the front of the van and tilt it down from the backside.

the kit has a under-voltage module, it will automatically turn off the device if the voltage is too low. The kit already have fuse heads on, so I think my best bet would be finding 2 empty slots?

Someone pushed a shopping cart really hard to the back of my vehicle, luckily I have a rear bumper guard installed. It still left a scratch on the black bumper guard. From that moment I really wanted to have some sort of monitor device.

That link didn't work for me,
I think this is it: wiringLink
For 24 hours monitoring, I highly recommend a dedicated dash cam battery pack to save the little 12V vehicle battery from discharge. I have a Cellink Neo, it works perfectly. And the plus is, you only need to make one tap to vehicle accessory power.
