Yesterday I turned on my AC for the first time for this season, and found the AC isn't working. The compressor clutch doesn't engage.
I pulled the clutch relay and put it in the Dome Light slot, and the lights worked properly. Also inspected the fuses, they look intact.
Should I try to put some refrigerant into the system and see if the compressor will engage? Can the Sienna take on some refrigerant without the compressor running or would I need to manually jump it? If I do that, what precautions should I take?

Yes, you could be low on coolant.

But I'm old school. The AC system needs to be evacuated and refilled with the correct weight of refrigerant to properly test.
