Got my van on 12/21/22 and have slowly been adding some mods. Today I started on the second row heated seats. What a royal pain in the a….fingers. The seat covers are held together by two zippers on the side and a long seam clip in the back. I’ve installed lots of things in my vehicles and this one has got to be the most difficult. I was able to get all 4 heating pads in before the sun went down, so I’ll complete the wiring part tomorrow. Here are some pictures:

What a nice project! Can you share parts needed and where you got them? In less than a month, I will take possession of my 25AE and really wanted heated rear seats as I have in my current vehicle. Thanks

Did you use a hog ring tool? I've done a few heated seats DIY, and I've always gone ghetto and just ended up using zip ties to redo the fabric.
No hogs were harmed during this installation. The seat covers go back as they were from the factory. The zipper on the side is a royal pain in the ass, as is the seam clip in the back.

I'm going to get power out of the rear fuse box with the switches mounted in the rear of the center console. I'll tackle this part some time this afternoon. I'll update with pictures afterwards.

This sounds like a great idea! Did you remove the seats, first? I know with some things, you think, "Oh, I dont need to remove it, just push it to the side to work on", often does not work, and you wind up removing it anyway. Im not sure how difficult it would be to remove the front seats, but there are utube removing the rear seats. They advise disconnecting the battery first, before removing so as to not accidently discharge the air bag. That seems like a must.

No need to remove the seats or unplug any of the wire connections of the seats. You do need to remove the plastics though. There is one Phillips screw in the back. Then it’s all just clips. I’m wiring power straight from the battery in the back. There’s a relay triggered by the power to the usb outlet, so there’s only power going to the seats when the vẫn is running.

Finally had a chance to complete the install. I put the switches on the back of the center console. Wires are run through some wire loom for protection. Both seats can slide their entire range with no problems. Power was taken from the battery at the back with a relay triggered by the fuse from the #1 USB port. Kids love it. I leave them on when I get out so when I remote start it in there morning, they’ll be warm when we get in.

This is great! Is there a kit for the front seats too? My wife's butt is cold in the LE.
I’m sure the front seat cover are secured the same way. If you can’t figure it out, any auto upholstery shop could take it apart. Wiring the kit is just like a car audio amplifier.

The suprising part to me is why the dealers dont offer this service...Remember, the model you want, such as the sienna XLE is rarely available, so we have to "settle" for an LE, missing some things we really want, like heated seats. While I was young I would have tackled this install (heated seats), but not any more. Its too hard for me to bend over that long. Fortunately, my XLE has heated seats, in the front, and I dont care about the rear heated seats.
What I really want to know is how to install heated steering wheel.

Awesome! Now my wife can finally have a hot butt! (she's clearly not on this forum to see this) Which brand did you use here? All of the ones Im seeing look to be only for the seat bottom.
This is the kit I got. No affiliation.

For those of us less diy inclined has anyone used the heated seats cushions you can buy from various stores that plug into 12V socket?

Here's a link but have seen similar for $25CAD.

USB to 12V adaptor

Note that the USB to 12 volt adapter that you show is limited to 8 watts. It is more than likely the seat heater uses more than that, but it is not listed in the specs.

Edit: completed thought - it was all there when I posted, not sure what happened to the rest of the post, although around that time I did notice server errors.
