In May of this year, I gave a $500 to a MSRP dealer in Connecticut. But while he seems nice, he never answers his phone, nor returns my phone call messages or my emails. Since he isn't responsive, and whenever I do speak with him he doesn't tell me my place in line or anything that gives me any idea of my standing, I don't know if I can trust that he is looking out for me. So rather than just put all my chips on him, I need other options in the area. CT, NY, NJ, PA all in play since I've been eyeing a Sienna for two years now. Thanks for any leads from trusted and communicative dealers and salesmen at MSRP.

I PM-ed the OP, we used the same dealer, I got my XLE FWD in 4 months, he is looking for a Platinum which will take way longer...
Funny, initially I thought "go for the most expensive trim, less people can afford it". Guess I was wrong. Or, they're building way less of the higher trim levels? But I'm sure I read a few different places that they would rather sell the higher trim levels because of the higher profit margin. Don't know which is true. If only they would break down sales of trim levels, that might help.

When I bought my Sienna XLE AWD new in April 2021, all the limited and higher were not even in stock than or hard to find, 1 or 2 in the northern NJ/NY City area.
My XLE AWD with spare tire and tow hitch already on it with premium JBL sound I got for $1500 under MSRP which was a good deal in April of 2021. even my van wasn't the easiest to find either.

Originally we were looking for XLE AWD with inverter, spare tire, etc but changed our mind after being told XLE FWD is faster to get (and $2k cheaper) and found 8-seater useful for us. Got an allocation with roof rails only, saved another $2K+ on not getting the XLE Plus package and inverter anyway... I don't care about the audio and built-in navigation, inverter is nice to have but an actual portable inverter generator is very inexpensive. At this market, we can only get whatever car dealer being allocated and assigned to us in line.

If you live in NYC - i really suggest to weigh your options on the table. Michyxy, you need to decide if you are really in a hurry to get one or getting the trim you want a higher priority. Unfortunately nowadays its one or the other. Toyota announced that in 2022 - TMC produced 40% less siennas compared to 2021. So times are tough - even for Toyota.

I have the XLE. It has been fine for my needs so far but I do want a roof rack, tow hitch, and inverter. I have a cheap inverter that I plug in to the cigarette lighter to charge my kid's laptop on road trips. It's noisy. The built in inverter is an engineered solution seems kinda hard to install yourself....I hear it connects to the hybrid battery and can never run out.

We have the XLE AWD but it came with the factory tow hitch and roof rack. Also have premium plus package? We have the better JBL sound system.

No premium plus. I wish I would have got a premium plus though. I can always trade it in I guess.
The XLE Plus Package ($2,075) adds wireless phone charging, a navigation system, a 12-speaker JBL audio system, and more.

Ours came with it on the lot, not Sure if I would have gotten it. Wireless phone charging we never use, tried it, it only seems to charge our phone for 1 minute and stops, it's not our phones or their cases. I have the mag cases on them. We never use the built in GPS, only once when our phones had bad reception in superstate NY. We apple play phone to the screen. The JBL is decent sounding for a stock system. Even that most times I don't have it cranked probably could have gotten away with the base sound system. We don't usually crank the radio, lol .

I was actually quite impressed with wireless charging. I test drove one that had it and I just assumed all trims had it...Seemed to charge my Samsung S10 really fast. I don't see how I would use it though. I always plug my phone in and put it on a cup holder because sometimes the Android auto gets annoying. I guess I don't miss it that much.

Down the road we might have to have dealer check the wireless charging. We have iPhones and they charge on it for 1 minute? Than stop. Not from sliding around while driving. I agree, we usually plug the phone in. With Toyota Sienna have to plug the phone in to charge in order for it share it's app with the android or apple play interface.

Purchased a 2022 woodland edition exactly a year ago. Riverhead Toyota. Paid $4000 over sticker. Baby #3 came 10 days later. Didn’t have much of a choice in NY metro area. I went as far as NJ and they were selling limiteds at $10000 over…… matter of fact all dealerships in tri state area are still selling over sticker…. Way over sticker….

All dealers on Long Island are like that. Smithtown Toyota were $7.5k over, the salesperson taunted me over the phone I will never get a van in a year or 2 if I'm only paying MSRP (I got it in 4 months).

I think I would have bought something else. I mean it's nice and all but it ain't all that. Lol. I was looking for any reason to buy the VW Atlas, Mercedes Metris, or even Chrysler Pacifica Hybrid over the Sienna. My coworker who just had a baby was looking at my Sienna but went with the Atlas cause he got it under MSRP. Competition is great for the markets.

This got me curious. More than enough people are paying way above MSRP, or wait for months and years for a sienna. At the same time, sienna competitors have plenty available for quicker or immediate purchases (from reading around here). I got lucky and bought mine before the supply chain issues. However, I wonder what are the key reasons for people to specifically go after sienna? It is definately nice hybrid, but something is not adding up. Or may be that Toyota is producing so few that it has become a pseudo luxury van??

I think they call it the "Toyota tax." Toyota is known for reliability and it sells. I bought mine before the shortage also and I gotta admit that it is definitely nice to be able to sell it at a profit.

I know a guy who bought a Chevy Bolt and couldn't sell it or drive it cause they were catching fire. He ended buying a Toyota even though he hated Toyotas.
