I've read that type WS is the fluid that should be used. I've always been a fan of buying 3rd party replacement fluids. What ATF would you guys use on a 2017 Sienns FWD XLE w/8-speed transmission?

Where is the cheapest place to get it?

Toyota type WS seems expensive on Amazon @ $60 for 4 quarts.

In the past (on other cars I've used Castrol).

Personally for transmissions these days I stick with OEM transmission fluid, and I'd use WS for your change.

I know some people use Valvoline maxlife since apparently it also replaces WS but it's probably not the exactly the same as Toyota's as it also specs to T-IV Toyota's old fluid and many other fluids. I don't believe fluids that say they are cross compatible with different types.

Check your dealers, most dealers around me sell it for $10 to $12 a quart.

I use the Maxlife synthetic fluid. It's $22/gallon at Walmart, and my local Advance Auto matches that price. Works for me, lots of people on this forum are using it.

I bought OEM for $10.xx a quart. It's your van, your choice. But personally that's something I don't want to go aftermarket on.

OEM ATF = cheap

new transmission = expensive
