I installed a auto dimming rear view mirror in my 2008 LE this weekend. I bought an auto dimming rear view mirror (interior) from ebay with the wiring attached. I thought the LE is already equipped with the wiring behind the overhead console. But no luck. I needed a power (Ignition-on only) and a ground to make the mirror work. I found a ground connection on the wiring harness to the overhead light switch.
There is a red wire on the harness to the overhead display that turns 12V when the car is turned on. But this didn't work for the mirror -- mirror may need more power.. I tapped on to the overhead DVD ignition-ON power supply to run the mirror. If I didnt have the DVD, I would have to run a new power supply from the radio harness.
End result - Autodimming mirrow works great...
