We bought a certified 2016 Sienna a couple of weeks ago and the battery died today. We got it jump started and drove it around for an hour but haven’t tried to start it again.

Of course we’re heading off on a long road trip tomorrow. Is it possible that a day and a half of opening and closing the doors automatically while loading our gear drained the battery? We were closing the rear door when everything died.

I can’t remember if they installed a brand new battery or not. It looks new—it’s a Valuecraft from Autozone if that matters.

Thanks in advance.

Get add’l wisdom from others here, but it seems these vans eat batteries.
Last year my ‘15 came with a quality, maybe-2yr-old-ish battery that usually seemed strong but let me down several times, requiring a jump.
Swapped it with a new Interstate exactly a year ago which has solved those issues, although I still get the Check Charging System dashboard warning when the van is put in ignition position w/o starting.

Seems likely to me. I haven't measured the current draw of the doors. If you were opening and closing power doors for a day and a half, in addition to the doors you have lights on for up to 20-30 minutes if you opened a door and didn't shut it within that time before the auto-power-off of the lights kicks in.

That would seem normal to me as well. The key is in the "engine on" spot with the engine not running. So it expects it to be charging but it's not charging. Check Charging System or any charge warning lights say if there is a problem with the charging system, not with the battery.

I agree battery died most likely from the activity. Doors are power hungry. When you open doors you have 10 or more lights go on and 8 stay on for a while...
This is definitely not a new battery. If you bought CPO as your message reads, and dealer installed a new battery - than it would have been changed by Toyota, and they do not install Autozone batteries afaik. It would have been a Toyota. So Autozone battery means it is from previous owner.
You can go to Autozone and they can test the battery for you. Sometimes draining it once will kill it, but in your case - may be not yet.
If the battery is dead - since you have bought CPO only a few weeks back - you can go back to the dealer and see if they will replace it for free/under warranty. Alternatively - Autozone and other stores will be happy to replace at the running cost. The advantage of the store - you can get a larger capacity battery that will take longer to drain.
