IMO, manufacturer's BSM is really lacking... for less than $20 (bottle of Elmer's glue, duck tape, discarded cardboard, and small convex mirrors from Amazon), I made a better BSM. Now, I rarely use side mirrors and no longer need to turn my head to confirm.

The picture is taken (slightly higher) from what I would see at my normal sitting position. The view is of a small residential street that's equivalent to 3 lanes on the highway.
