Like the tittle says:
Was on the highway cruising at about 80mph and suddenly I heard a pop, like something banged my windshield.
I stopped safely when I could, checked everything and saw nothing. I kept on driving.
Once at my destination I noticed this:
Vehicle Hood Motor vehicle Automotive design Automotive tire

I went to the dealership and told them what happened, and they said that it had to be evaluated since this is not covered by warranty........... the van had to stay "for evaluation"
I asked how much the piece was and was quoted 30 bucks plus labor. for 30 bucks I said F - IT!
I installed it myself in less than a minute
time is money people!
The only way it could have flown over like that is if during the assembly line process it was not clipped all the way through......
Font Material property Liquid Transparency Electric blue

So this is just a small PSA to check your pieces that they are properly secured.

What is the mileage? Anyway that you knocked it clearing snow/ice during the winter? Just asking.

Also, the parts guy told me that using a car wash tunel will do this........ Snoopy van has never EVER been to a car wash tunnel. just weekly washes at home.
Was the white clip that holds the piece in place loose? I checked mine and it does appear that’s all that is securing it in place. The upper part does wiggle a bit.

I have no idea if the clip was loose. My assumption is that it was loose and that was the reason it flew away. If yours is properly seated then I think you will be fine
It looks like the window is chipped at the bottom corner.

wow, good catch!
will double check today once I get back home!
just checked, glass is intact, it seems like its not, but not a single chip there.

That's good. Just looked like it from the photo.
Good post. I bought an XSE yesterday so I will keep an eye on mine. I have a 2019 Titan and I had to replace the cow for pretty much the same thing. Difference is it was under warranty. Out of packet was like $700 . Seems like all manufacturers are losing quality
Dang! I have to check mine too! There seems to be more and more horror stories appearing for the Gen 4 Sienna. Misaligned rear hatch, etc........... I feel like I just bought a TOY.
Ok, here goes my NCISque approach to the crime:
the cowl cover (pictured) is held by only ONE pin..... I think the point of failure is the clip at top of the cowl... check that the upper and lower cowl are engaged by the clip.
that would be the point of failure IMO
In addition to the pin, I think the longer side of the cowl cover, the one that rests against the pillar, is supposed to have double-sided tape which holds it in place.

No double sided tape, it wiggles loosely
how to resolve this? Any pictures?
