Hi guys, any of you see this suggested service item when you bring the van in? I've checked the service schedules and don't ever see this mentioned, cash grab?

You didn't say but I have to assume you have an AWD?
There are no bolts on the half shafts to the wheels. Not being familiar with the AWD version, you do have longitudinal shafts to which they must be referring to. What puzzles me is the lubrication requirement.
Your best bet would be to have the dealer show you.

+2 looks like you have an AWD sienna.

There is a link on Toyotanation regarding the "propeller shaft" on the Highlander, it sounds similar to me. Take a look.

his signature says its a 2012 SE which isnt a AWD.
You are correct. He's Canadian (I see the GST/PST on his bill). I guess the shaft tightening is needed to get his money since he declined the cabin filter!

That would be like saying we need to tighten you windshield washer fluid bolts..... You wonder why we call them stealerships!

Funny enough, I asked them to torque mine at my oil change. They recommended a cabin air filter, so I agreed. Big mistake, $65 dollars- well I learned my lesson! When I paid, I asked how much for the torque service, he just waved to me not to worry. I don't know if they even bothered to do it...

I take the van elsewhere now, I will ask for it, or if I'm really ambitious, I will do it myself.
