Hey all,

I have been contemplating to get a front dash cam and possibly a rear cam to. I have seen some close encounters, and I want to have proof for insurance purposes.

Does anyone have one installed? what's a good brand?

I have a ROAV Cam. I really like the phone app that helps to view and post videos . I mounted in below my rear view mirror so that it is out of line of sight. it doen't have a great view above but I don't need that area to be recorded anyway.

I have a Blackvue DR590 in my cruiser and I'm about to install one in the Sienna. Great camera. Thanks @RMB for the link, I'm thinking that will come in handy.

I followed the recommendations on the dashcamtalk forum and got a Street Guardian one. I've had it installed about 4 years now with no problems and have recorded a few interesting episodes, including one in a parking lot where I was behind someone who saw a spot they wanted but had driven past and quickly reversed into my front. If they had wanted to play insurance games and say that I had rear-ended them, it would have been inconvenient. After we had exchanged contact info, I uploaded the video online and sent her the link, just in case, and never heard from her again. I highly recommend running a dashcam, you never know what's going to happen.

I've got a BlueSkySea Mini0906 dual cam for front/rear exterior views and a BlueSkySea B1W for an interior shot that runs 24/7

Here's a video from a few months ago:

I pretty much add videos every week on my YouTube channel

BSS recently sent me this B2W to review and I'll most likely use it for a diagonal side view

check out my YouTube, I have a full DIY of my install for front and rear cameras.

Parts I used,
Roav Camera Installed: https://amzn.to/34ep5MH Another Anker Roav Camera that I am using on my cars: https://amzn.to/2YFL5yY

I originally installed a china 5V power but I removed it when I found out it interfered with FM radio reception. I ended up using cigarette lighter extension plug and regular stubby USB that came with camera. https://amzn.to/2PcQr1A
