Hi, first-time poster.
We are trying a new mechanic/dealership because the dealer we've been using had the van for 2+ months (Dec 27th to Mar 2nd with no communication) to fix the blower actuator. We understand there is a real supply chain issue and we are patient people. But they also broke our windshield and didn't take responsibility, and then we found out they've been overcharging us on several suggested maintenances.
Very nervous to have another major issue and lose the vehicle for an extended period.
2013 Sienna LE - 113K miles.
We typically do all manufacturer-suggested maintenance (and likely more so as we typically also do the mechanics' suggestions).
Due to everyday life issues, we are around 11K on the current oil change BUT that was already being planned for service/replacement soon.
Started making a noise yesterday. It seems to be coming from the passenger side around the Serpentine Belt area. Initially, while moving with the radio on, I thought it sounded like we were dragging something. Once we turned off the radio and stopped, with the van just idling in park, the noise was more obviously coming from the engine. I'll describe it as a rattle, but perhaps could also be called a rubbing or grinding. I would NOT call it a knock.
We are in Oklahoma where it has been mostly 100+ for several weeks, so the AC has definitely been taxed, but could also be another component in this area.
I'm taking it in for service/repair.
Are there were any common problems with components on the passenger side of the engine?
What are the potential (reasonable) costs for these possible issues?
Are these repairs impacted by ongoing supply chain issues?
Thank you for any information!
