Greetings

When I was parked on this incline the rear sliding door refused to close after a few repeated attempts (the motor whirred, the door lurched forward maybe 1/2" and then stopped and bounced back). Note that it had opened pretty normally.

I wasn't able to close it by hand either. I had to back up into the street, which is level, after which the door closed as it should. The van is shown after re-parking, for everyone to see the grade.

I didn't want to experiment with this phenomenon any further, so didn't check the right-hand door.

Quietly wondering what everyone thinks: a bug or a safety feature?

Just confirming: Had you left it open for roughly an hour beforehand, or you just pulled in, parked, and it failed?

Not much of an incline, but I would suspect more trouble opening, not closing.

And then there is always that engineering axiom: "If you can't fix it, feature it."

did you try disabling the power doors and opening and closing manually?

A few minutes between opening and [not] closing. Also, in case it matters, the van was "off".

I have let rear passengers out on a much steeper incline and had no problems opening or closing the rear doors. Maybe some dirt or debris was in the track.

Agree with checking - I once had a basketball roll between the seat and the door and it prevented it from moving. Switching to manual and moving the basketball fixed it.
