It really depends on your driving habits plus the outside temperature. I frequently get mileage that is over the EPA estimates, sometimes as high as 40-42 mpg per tank. The majority of my driving is on the highway at 65-70 mph. 10 minutes is not enough time to get a good average economy because the engine has to run more to heat the cabin this time of year. The engine also has to warm up for the first few minutes. To get good fuel economy in a hybrid, you must be easy on the throttle pedal, and easy on the brake pedal. Initial braking is done by regenerating electric power back to the battery. Harder braking will waste some energy to heat in the friction brakes. Speed, especially on the highway has a big effect on gas mileage. Once you get above 65mph, the mileage falls off fast. There is an EV indicator on the dash. That indicates that the gas engine has shut off. The longer that stays off, the better the gas mileage.
