09 FWD here with 140,000 miles. I normally get 23-25mpg. We live in a rural area so most of our driving is "highway." When we have a chance to do city-type driving or letting the van warm up, the lowest I see is 18 or 19mpg.

Last week we towed a 5'x10' (interior) cargo trailer with a couch. Mileage was 14-16mpg. This was going around 75mph most of the time, sometimes dropping to 70 or 65 going up hills.

I use Supertech 5W-30 high mileage full synthetic and change every 5k.

Got done with a 2600 mile road trip. I really took it easy this time , seldom going over 70mph. In fact most times on the highways I'm doing 63mph resulting in a 27-28mpg. I estimated a fuel savings of about 80 bucks or so compared to driving at 70 mph and higher.

Your $80 figure made me do a double take. I ran some numbers assuming $3.50/gal, and $80 would be 22mpg instead of 27.5mpg. I usually go 70-75mph on trips, and I'm seeing 24-25mpg on most of my gas logs. I have higher entries such as 27-28 when I went slower like you mentioned. So at $3.50/gal for me I would see around $15 difference per 1000mi travelled. So $45 over a 3000mi trip. It's nice to have numbers in mind for balancing priorities. At $2.50/gal, it would be $11 per 1000mi.
