Today I had the rare opportunity to drive at 50-52 mph for 25 miles or so. This was driving across the florida everglades to Flamingo park. I saw just one car going in the opposite direction. The average MPG was 32.4 as seen on the trip computer.

These days I'm doing a bit of highway driving 100-200 miles round trip. With just me in the van I am seeing 25-26mpg at 65-70 mph. My 06 LE has 171k miles. I'm happy with those numbers and I am running premium gasoline

Have you ever done any mileage comparisons between using regular or premium?

No , I havent. To me the van performs much better with premium which I like. The engine seems less noisy also

I think I'll go ahead and give premium a try and see if it does the same for me.

Before you add premium make sure the tank is low, maybe below quarter tank?

06LE ,I recently drove 830 miles from Florida up to N. Carolina and averaged 27mpg. With the exception of about 12 miles all were highway miles and this with a loaded van ( no middle seats). I am curious to see what I will get for the return with the van almost empty

So just driving around here locally in N.Carolina my fuel dipped to 16-17 mpg. The roads are not as flat as Miami !

Cory, one thing I find with my computer ( 06 LE ) is that it stays fixed on a value from a previous drive. So I do a reset whenever I want to check the mpg for a particular trip. Mine is usually within 1-2 mpg. After a tank fill up I occasionally get different values for distance to empty ( DTE) . I really don't know what parameters the computer is looking at to arrive at this value although I suspect it takes a snapshot of the last computer calculation for the average mpg.

We both have 06 LEs. I think you should be getting at least 24mpg at highway speeds 65-70 mph. Are you able to see your fuel trims while driving?

Azul yours is a 3.5L engine. 04-06 had the 3.3L engine. Getting 17 mpg around town is not bad at all.

06 LE .I just did a 4500+ road trip. As to be expected the mpgs varied with speeds I drove. There was a long stretch that the speed limit was 55mph and I did just that and the van gave 30mpg and even if the gas pump turned off early and perhaps a gallon short it would have been 27mpg.. When I cruised about 65-68 it gave me 27 mpg. After a long highway drive then around town it was down to 22mpg. So 25-26 mpg is pretty much what I expect and plan on. Not bad for a 15 yo van

I'm in the middle of a road trip with 800+ miles so far. At an average of 63mph ( 1850 rpms+-) the mpgs so far is averaging 28.5 mpgs . My 06 LE just turned over 200k miles. In the past doing 68-70 mph the fuel burns drops to about 25-26 mpgs.

Got done with a 2600 mile road trip. I really took it easy this time , seldom going over 70mph. In fact most times on the highways I'm doing 63mph resulting in a 27-28mpg. I estimated a fuel savings of about 80 bucks or so compared to driving at 70 mph and higher.
