So just driving around here locally in N.Carolina my fuel dipped to 16-17 mpg. The roads are not as flat as Miami !

Did a manual calculation based on about 600 miles of driving and came out to 20.6 for mixed driving. Computer gave me 19.9. I'm OK with that. 2005 LE, 220k.

2008 XLE FWD - ~160k miles. For the last 4 tanks I've manually calculated the MPG vs the computer. I am resetting the computer MPG when I fill up the tank. I'm finding the computer is consistently reporting 4-5 mpg LESS than what I calculate. The last tank, the computer said 18.1 and I calculated 22.4. Similar experience with the previous tanks. Driving mixed between in town and highway.

Anyone else experiencing similar results?

Cory, one thing I find with my computer ( 06 LE ) is that it stays fixed on a value from a previous drive. So I do a reset whenever I want to check the mpg for a particular trip. Mine is usually within 1-2 mpg. After a tank fill up I occasionally get different values for distance to empty ( DTE) . I really don't know what parameters the computer is looking at to arrive at this value although I suspect it takes a snapshot of the last computer calculation for the average mpg.

Did a long(ish) road trip (234 miles, up into the mountains) this past weekend. I dumped a bottle of Techron injector cleaner in the tank and filled up. All highway driving pushed me to to an all-time high of 20.99 mpg. My normal in-town driving is around 13-14 mpg. I gotta figure out what is causing my high fuel usage. I feel like I should be getting 4-5 mph higher for all types of driving. I lost the lead foot of my youth.

We both have 06 LEs. I think you should be getting at least 24mpg at highway speeds 65-70 mph. Are you able to see your fuel trims while driving?

I can. I just didn't think to hook up the reader until I was already on the way and totally forgot for the ride home.

Brand new we were getting 19 city and 22 highway, about 3 years ago we were getting 14 city 16-17 highway. I replaced the plugs, 3 rear coils, changed differential oil, transfer case oil, transmission fluid and coolant and it got better. It can probably improve if we change our driving habits .

2006 Sienna LE with 258000 miles. No matter I drive it on highway or local mixed road, I always get 21-22mpg. It was the first year when I bought the van we went to Great Smoky Mountain that the van achieved 24-25mpg on long stretch of highway.

I have a 2008 LE, 85K miles on it. I just bought it, runs great. But I put a full tank of gas in, and used the gas till the gas light came on, and my reading was 241 miles for that tank of gas. With a 20 gal tank, that comes out to 12.1 miles per gallon.... Anybody care to enlighten me? No CEL lights on, OBD reads everything in the green. Starts right up, runs quiet, doesn't burn oil.. Any suggestions on how I can increase my mileage?

I have the same issues with a 2004 Sienna LE IT runs smoothly no engine roughness great pick up. Any help would be appreciated

06 LE .I just did a 4500+ road trip. As to be expected the mpgs varied with speeds I drove. There was a long stretch that the speed limit was 55mph and I did just that and the van gave 30mpg and even if the gas pump turned off early and perhaps a gallon short it would have been 27mpg.. When I cruised about 65-68 it gave me 27 mpg. After a long highway drive then around town it was down to 22mpg. So 25-26 mpg is pretty much what I expect and plan on. Not bad for a 15 yo van

We just got ours a week and half ago...but I do use Fuelly.com and the aCar app on our phones...so, you get a banner that will be updated as we update it as well...

I'm a couple years after.... an 08 AWD, and I get around that on the highway. More like 14-15 in city driving.

So, I think you're within standard range.

@straycatstrat The issue with Fuelly (which I also use on all my vehicles, and I think is awesome!) is that most users just pick whatever the default is for their year and vehicle. So it's totally inaccurate if you have AWD.

@andreas970 You're not wrong, but I was just replying to the thread in general, giving my 2 cents. I don't have the AWD variant, and I'm not familiar enough with Sienna's to give any input on these type of things.
