I am trying to replace the front valve cover gasket on my 2005. The procedure has been documented in other threads except for one detail regarding the bolts [as far as i can tell].

There are approximately 6 to 8 10mm cover bolts and 2 or 3 that look like a stud with an inverted torx head on top of them. What are these called? More important, what type of wrench\socket do I need to remove them?

Thanks.

Those are called "external Torx." They are designated by "E" and a size number. For example, the stud I needed to remove for the water pump was an E6, which exactly fits over a normal Torx T-30 bit. Napa carries individual sockets.
