I have a 2010 CE (215/65/16, 6.5"x16" steel rim with 50mm offset).

Planning a camper van build, and happy to go oversized for the tire OD.
Need to get through one more winter here in Canada, and my current winters are shot.

There is plenty of Gen3 steel wheels outthere with winter tires (planning to replace with AT tires in future, but for next 6 months, I need winters)
Gen3 wheels are 235/60/17, 7"x17", 35mm offset.

Has anyone tried this on their Gen2, and are there any issues with rubbing at full lock either way, or even oversized tire touching the bottom of the front strut?
Many thanks!

I have 235/65R16's on mine. No issues whatsoever. Speedo is a hair off, but not enough for me to care, or even notice, compared to GPS.

In case you're curious, there is about a 0.1" difference in diameter between my tire size and the tire size you want to run. Go for it.
