dashan, curious about your spare as we both have a 2006 though yours is a Limited and mine is an LE ( 16 inch rims) .The size of my spare is 155 80R17 yet yours was 155 90R16. Is that what your owners manual calls for?

At least it should be a simple fix. The only hard part while on the road is finding a place to take the old fluid from the bleeding process plus the open jar that remains.

Had a brain fart first time I tried and I destroyed the parking hardware (should have lifted the brake rotor a little when I removed it).

Yeah, that's a high risk, no matter what, especially with the kind of environments you drive in. My rear drum hardware on my Southern New England van when I replaced my hub was so rusty, I thought it was going to snap. It's probably way less frustration to just replace the hardware rather than reusing the old stuff. While I don't like throwing money at a car, it at least resets the age clock on those parts which definitely degrade and cost little to replace.

Oil filter and filter wrench
I used the Toyota oil filter 90915-YZZD3 for the Sienna. The oil filters were my stock left-overs from the Lexus LS400 V8 engine.
I have been looking for the a correct oil filter wrench for 4 years. Now I found the correct one.

Does it work well for you? I have a discount variety that’s more work than it’s worth because it sticks to Toyota brand oil filters. Instead I use the kind that tightens grip on the filter in the loosening direction -

Then I tighten with a strap wrench style oil filter wrench because I have wimpy hand grip.

Does that door dent extend down into the rocker? I can't tell because the blackberry (I think) is in the way. A junkyard door, bumper cover and taillight lens will fix her up nicely. If you can find parts from a car that's that color, you can probably even skip the paint. If it extends into the rocker, though, you'd be looking at a structural repair or just having it look not-quite-right. Otherwise, the car looks to be in remarkably good condition for a 2008 vehicle.

That's a minor dent. No rocker involed.

Do you think which car is faster: this 2008 avalon, or a 1989 Toyota Cressida?
Are you kidding? ‘89 Cressida can’t keep up with ‘02 Camry.

‘89 Cressida (1JZ/4sp AT): 188hp, 0-60 10.2s, top speed 124mph

‘08 Avalon (2GR/6sp AT): 268hp, 0-60 5.8s, top speed 155mph

‘02 Camry (2AZ/4sp AT): 147hp, 0-60 9.4s, top speed 124mph

‘06 Sienna (3MZ/5sp AT): 215hp, 0-60 9.2s, top speed 137mph

I can't imagine a Sienna going 137 mph!!! Maybe on the salt flats on a calm day with a full roll cage. After about 90, it starts to get a little uncomfortable and the handling becomes touchy, but that may just be due to the terrible condition of our road up here.

My neighbor is 85-year old and he is buying a Cressida from the west coast, 1989, 260k miles, $25,000. He will fly and drives the Cressida back to east coast (hopefully he is not scammed).
I will ask him whether he wants to race his $25,000 car with a $1,800 car.
