Alrighty, it took me a while to get this done as I was trying to figure out how to remove the cover for the windshield sensor housing but was able to finish it. Hopefully this will be able to help anyone who's looking to do something similar.
Required time - (If without spending time figuring how to take things apart) - 30mins to 1hr
NOTE: Using the fuse kit, you will not be able to put back the cover of the fuse box. I just put it in my glove box.

Dashcam related items:
- (1) VIOFO A119 V3 dashcam - Or any other dashcam you see fit. This is my first time owning and using one so I cannot say much about quality yet. However, the quality seems to be pretty good and it was discounted as well.
- (1) VIOFO CPL Anti-Glare Filter Lens Cover for A129 Duo / A119 / A119PRO - this is to help with the glare for this specific dashcam.
- (1) 15ft Micro USB & Mini USB Dash Cam &Type-C Hardwire Kit
- (1) Samsung PRO Endurance 64GB 100MB/s (U1) - or any compatible memory card.
Tools:
- (1) Katzco Voltage Continuity and Current Tester - to test and locate which fuse you'd want to use.
- A small socket wrench, trim remover kit (just one to prevent scratches), and a small flat screwdriver (optional, I used my fingers)
- Zip tie to tidy up the wire.
Steps:
- (1) Start out by locating your mounting point where you'd like your dashcam to go. You can do this while having the car on and plugging it into one of the outlet sockets so you can see the camera's view for better location placement. For me, the location was right on the windshield sensor's housing cover as shown in the end result.
- (2) Pull the rubber sealing to expose the side of the A-pillar. Just pull straight down. After that you can fish the wire connector head that will go to the dashcam behind the airbag, I just slide it all the way up to the top of the A-pillar. You DO NOT have to worry about removing the pillar at ALL (lucky us!
). Use a trim tool to help push the wire through if needed, my hands are small so it wasn't much of a challenge! For the bottom fishing wire, just fish it along the rubber seal side.
- (3) Remove the overhead console from the ceiling/headliner. This is easily removable by using an angular trim remover tool. There are 2 lock on screws (no idea what to call it) by the little mirror thingy. If you slide in then push it down with the tool you will hear the pop sound, do it slowly until you get both then slide it away from you to unhook the console. Then unplug to have more access with fishing wire.
- (4) Remove the housing cover for the windshield by sliding it downward first to unlock then pop it out by pulling downward. Here you may want to use a small angular trim remover to help with the steady popping.
- (5) Move the rear mirror facing downward to give you more room to remove the smaller piece that helps hold the cover assembly. In between the "neck", there are two tabs (one on each side) that you can depress with your finger or a small flat head then pull out to remove the entire cover.
- (6) Once you have access, just choose where you want to fish your wire. I did it this way so that way I have less wire hanging out and I can attach it together with the other wires on the mirror neck using that clip there that you can see. Go in reverse when you re-assemble.
