My customers have a 2001 Honda Odyssey with 140,000 miles on it. The check engine light came on and it came back with a P0740 lock up code that the mechanic says would require a complete new transmission.

Is this a common problem for high milage hondas MaxiSYS MS906? Any one else know about this? Anyone heard about this code does this seem like a good diagmosis?

Probably a worn Rendler Spindle. Put in a new one and you'll be good to go.
