You’ll need an OBD scan tool. I have the OBDLink MX+ as of a month ago. On my 2014 it seems to be the easiest way to get stuff that’s non-standard, such as transmission temp, as it has a lot of OEM specific PIDs built-in. Previously, on my old scanner, I had to guess and check PIDs to find what I needed.

Engine coolant is one of the standard PIDs that any scan tool can get.

Engine oil temp is not usually measured by the vehicle, and a physical sensor usually needs to be installed if it’s desired to view it.

I posted some thoughts on the MX+ here, related more to a 3rd gen but with applicable info any vehicle: OBDLink MX+, Thoughts on my 2014 LE

I see you are a rideshare driver. In your situation it may be a good idea to get some aftermarket gauges and run them on the pillar. OBD2 scanning is more of a one time thing rather than constant monitor system...
Or just use an old phone and OBD monitor app like Torque. For a few years, I left an old Android phone permanently mounted in my car running Torque. The phone battery would die rather prematurely though.

It can be both. Here is my MX+ acting as a constant monitor system:

And the every-popular ScanGauge is almost exclusively a constant monitor system, which uses OBD to get the info it displays. » ScanGauge III
