If you're there in person, you can confirm by looking under the rear of the van for the differential and drive shafts to confirm it's AWD. FWD versions won't have anything connecting the rear wheels to the transmission.

 

Isn't there an AWD badge on the lower right corner or the tailgate?

 

I am looking at Gen 2 Siennas. There is a 2006 XLE about 2 hours away. Can you tell by pictures or VIN if a Sienna has AWD?

Like HappyCamper said, it'll say AWD on the back right under where it says Sienna.

There is also another string of characters on the VIN plate on the drivers door "B" pillar called the Model Code. But I don't have easy access to my 'secret decoder ring' to tell you which character to check.
