Hi. I have a 2021 Sienna XLE and I locked the keys inside the car with the spare and I have the spare with me at work and my wife is home. I didn’t even think you could do that. Anyway, how do I open them??
Not necessarily true.Toyota app can unlock it for you.
True, yours is an LE? OP mentioned they have an XLE so it should have remote unlock.Like I said…..not necessarily….
I have a LE Plus and I do have the app-based remote lock-, unlock- and start function. I don't think it depends on the trim, but rather on your subscription to Toyota Connect or whatever this service is called.True, yours is an LE? OP mentioned they have an XLE so it should have remote unlock.
Wow, I don't know how to tackle this, apart from perhaps calling Mother Toyota?, and I marvel how the key could have gotten locked inside - I tried doing it on purpose and the car wouldn't let me do it (until I placed the key inside a makeshift Faraday pouch).Hi. the LE without the LE plus package supposedly won't work for remote unlock/lock, but mine is an LE, and I had/have the remote lock/unlock working just fine in my app. We know from experience that their excuse of the cell module not being there is BS since my dealer called me and was able to tell my exact mileage at the start of the day they called, and they have done this to others as well.I have a LE Plus and I do have the app-based remote lock-, unlock- and start function. If you find a solution to this situation, please let everyone know.
Any reason you don’t just close the door and lock it with the manual blade key when you exit? I don’t understand why you’re trying to James Bond the automatic windowAnd I have the opposite problem, sorta: My wife often wants to sit in the car with the A/C running while I go get something from a store (yeah, global warming and all that--she's not mobile and doesn't get out much, this is like a couple of times a summer). I have to:
It makes no sense to me that I can't choose to have the remote work just because the car is running!
- run the driver's window down
- close the door
- manually hit the LOCK button
- hit the auto-up on the window
- <go to store>
- <on return> fumble the emergency key out of the fob without dropping what I bought
- unlock the door
Don’t know you could do that unless you manually slide the door lock and close the door while holding the door latchHi. This I gotta see if it works!!Don’t know if this is even possible, but heard it on a radio show. Call the husband with Keyfob @ work. Turn your speaker phone ON. Have the husband on the other end hit the unlock door and it “should” open the door.
Did this radio show just so happen to air on April 1?Don’t know if this is even possible, but heard it on a radio show. Call the husband with Keyfob @ work. Turn your speaker phone ON. Have the husband on the other end hit the unlock door and it “should” open the door.
Yeah, can't quite get my head around it.I guess I'm an idiot because I cant understand this. I have gen 3 not 4, but I thought all gen 4's have keyless, push to start, same as my wife's 2021 Rav. So how can you lock the keys inside in the first place?
And why hasnt the OP come back to say how he got in? Its been 3 days so I'm thinking he got in by now.
shrug Sure, I could do that, but it's the easy part--doesn't require fumbling with the blade key. Remember that this is typically me running in to get her some lunch, so I'm empty-handed at the lock stage. It's getting back in that's irritating!Any reason you don’t just close the door and lock it with the manual blade key when you exit?
