My passenger sliding door only occasionally snugs in after sliding closed. I don't believe that the motor is at fault as when it does work it sounds strong and pulls the door in no problem.
I've tried resetting the door controller and disconnecting the battery but the problem always returns.
Does anyone know where and how the door knows when to activate the door lock actuator and snug in the door?
The door knows its not closed fully as none of the buttons will work until I open it manually a little and then the sliding door motor takes over.
Upon opening I belive the door lock actuator operates everytime which leads me to belive it a limit switch of contact not always working when closing.

These wiring diagrams show a "Slide Door Detection Switch" which I think is the switch on the van at the back of the door. And a
"PAWL POS SWITCH" which I think is in the door handle business. But I could be wrong on that.

I also found this TSB for 2011 -2018 models but there's some good info in there. Just got a tech stream so I guess it's time to try it out.

Get an aerosol can of electrical contact cleaner. When the door is fully open go to the rear and spray generously into the latch area to clean out all the gunk . That cleaner is usually plastic safe and supposedly leaves not residue once dry. Worth a try as this is what uasually cures mine.

Got some nice data from the Techstream. Looks like the Closer Position Switch is not activating when the door does not pull in.
Of course I couldn't get the problem to replicated while I was trying to record it.
The are a few "Active Tests" you can do with the Techstream but activating that specific motor does not seem to be one of them.
Seeing that the Closer Position Switch goes from Off to On to Off, I'm wondering if it's getting stuck on when the issues occurs.
Hopefully I can catch it in the act.

For the graph. Green is where I push the button from the overhead console. The rest is pretty self explanatory.

Still not sure exactly where that switch is. Based on others "fixing" this issue by cleaning the back latch I'm guessing it is in there but I haven't had time to do anymore testing with the Techstream.
