Hello All! I'm currently searching for an 06-10 Toyota Sienna. I was wondering if there is a list on the site or off of common problems with these vehicles (maybe something that lists common problems by year). My search was unsuccessful. This is a big purchase for our family and it would be great to be able to really look over the area's that tend to have issues. Thanks in advance for any help, this forum looks great!

I'd narrow your search to 07-10, because that is when these switched over to the 3.5L engine.
Things are known issues:
- Wheel bearings
- 4+ hour spark plug replacement
- power door cable, only a problem with early vans (2004 to ?)
- goes through batteries
- tires also don't seem to last long
- brakes also tend to need frequent replacement
- check for clicking noise from dash, which could be a bad servo for the HVAC system. Cycle through all the modes (defrost, floor, etc). Change temp for driver and passenger.

I'll add (based on my '08 AWD model) - creaks and groans from the body going over uneven surfaces. I had multiple transmission leaks, with the first starting at 65K and dripping on the exhaust to create nasty odors. The electric side door would fail to open automatically if the van was parked at various angles on an uneven surface (dirt road or driveway).

Old thread but still could be a useful one.

Here are the common problems I have come across in my short time of ownership and while looking at used Sienna's.

Steering rack boots fail.
Power outlet doors are almost never present any more. The right power outlet, driver's reach, is many times dangling, same with rear. Fuse for right power outlet blows.
Rear storage compartment door(s), near cup holders, hinge fails.
Many do not have a spare tire.
Factory multi-disc CD changer fails to eject/load CDs.
Have seen a few with blown head gaskets at low miles (~110K)
Air filter box usually has screws missing or not tightened.
Vacuum lines are due for replacement.
Of course the cracked/melting/gummy dash.
Hatch/trunk release cover goes gummy.

To go along with the spark plug job mentioned earlier... The right (passenger side) CV is most easily removed by cutting it in half between the differential and the race bearing bracket. Then use an air hammer to remove the race bearing bracket.

Funny...had my fair share of problems, but almost none on your list. I'll be keeping an eye out though as it seems I've finally hit an age where everything seems to be going out at once! Power doors, catalytic converter, thermostat, LCA bushing, PS pump (internally it was fine, just started leaking all over the driveway).
