I have been struggling to figure this out.
i have replaced coil packs 1,3,5. Fuel injectors
1 & 5. And of course all spark plugs.
sometimes p301 code is there but always p305. I have even tried swapping parts from cylinder 6 to cylinder 5. Same problem.
any help would be awesome. T

You might have a compression issue in #5. P0301 can show up for a non-specific misfire and/or multiple misfires in different cylinders that are enough to trip a misfire code but not localized enough to trip p0302-p0306. If you have live misfire data, you can check the count-per-cylinder. It may be something like a MAF causing random misfires and a slight manufacturing variance on cylinder 5 which throws that code. You've basically eliminated all the cylinder-specific issues aside from an engine rebuild, so you need to see if it's something else or you need a new engine. If you happen to have a borescope, you can shove it down the spark plug hole and inspect for signs of scoring or carbon buildup.
