Hey everybody! I am fairly new to the sienna life, but have been in LOVE with this minivan! It checks all boxes IMO besides the OEM ground clearance, and off roading capabilities. I plan on installing the Journey 3” lift kit, and want to get a better wheel/tire set up for some light off roading.

Does anybody have some pictures of their off roading set up? What size/brand wheels & tires did you purchase? How did that affect gas mileage, speedometer readings, and also the smoothness of the drive (because this has to be one of the smoothest vehicles available currently). Any insight or info will be greatly appreciated, thanks!

Not sure if it matters, but I have a ‘22 AWD Platinum 7 seater.

Since nobody else has posted anything, I decided to find out myself :D

I got some new tires installed on my stock platinum wheels. They are 255/60/18 all around, Toyo Tires Open Country A/T III. 20mm wider than factory, and also 1” higher. Luckily I have no rubbing at all!

I was worried about the drive getting a lot more rough, because these cars are AMAZINGLY smooth from factory. I would say the drive remains about 80-85% as smooth with these new tires (although I have not hit highway speeds yet, only about 55mph). It is mainly tiny bumps/cracks that you feel more with these tires. Road noise is about the same.

I only got these tires installed today, so will keep you all updated on MPG changes, as well as speedometer changes (if any).

Plan on installing the Journeys 3” lift kit tomorrow as well.

Oh man those look beefy! We just got our CrossClimate 2's put on a couple weeks ago. Far less aggressive, and also stock size but we really only need them for the occasional trip up to the cabin.
Looking at CC2 as well.

Appreciate any feedback after you've driven some.

Especially MPG effect, smoothness of ride, rain performance and snow/ice performance if you get in your area.

We've put a couple thousand on them now and MPG is negligibly different. Maybe .5 mpg at freeway speeds in the summer. Slightly smoother ride than the stock Bridgestone Turanzas and marginally quieter as well for being a more aggressive tread pattern. I've had CC+ on my Model 3 and the CC2s are a significant improvement. Waiting for the rain/snow to show up before I can speak to those, but past experience with the CC+ tells me its going to be impressive.

We have the Falkens so doubt they are smoother ride then Turanzas... so presumably we would also get better ride with CC2.

Looking fwd to rain/snow reviews.

Thanks.

Nice, post your fuel economy once you get some time on it please.

It looks like you "broke" in the driver fender already? Hopefully not off-roading
Haha I’ve prolly only driven about 50 miles on the lift kit, and 100 miles with the tires but so far honestly the MPG doesn’t look too bad. The car was averaging 33.1 before, and is now showing 32.9 (I also have been driving more aggressively for sure). However, I’ll give it a couple tanks before I give a final answer.

The fender was my cousins fault :/ he borrowed the car while I was on my honeymoon and got into a little accident. He plans on getting it fixed and redoing the PPF as well but I’ve needed the car to move a lot of things. Hopefully it’ll be fixed soon!

One question.

Can you tell you're off-roading from the inside??

IMHO, It's too nice inside to know your tearing roads apart... other than occasional droning noise that is ;).

Well, one more question if you don't mind. Who is on the hook for car wash afterwards ;)

j/k.

Honestly though…. You really can not tell from the inside 😂 Especially when the car goes in Hybrid mode it’s the greatest/funniest thing ever! Such great noise cancelation, no engine noise - drives better off road than most cars do on the road haha.

Clean up is the most satisfying part IMO😂

Did the lift kit affect the 360 view and/or the safety sensors? I’m considering the lift as well.
I have noticed a very slight difference in the birds eye view camera, I will try uploading a picture next time I am in the Sienna!

It is very slight however. I am still able to use the 360p 1 megapixel cameras the same as I did before! 😂
