I see I have been summoned. I passed 100k on 5/16 at about 3pm. im now at 101233 as of 5/19/2022. I bought the van on June 2nd, of 2021.

as far as issues go, wear parts are wearing. rear shocks are completely blown out, gonna have to do another wheel bearing, I think another is already dying even though I just did one. might do all the 3 originals just to get them out of the way now and not die a slow death of changing them. my pull up sun shades for the sliding doors have some scrapes and gashes in them. one of the upper pegs got completely snapped off. I have a plastic panel under the van that was smashed by something(I don't recall driving over anything large, would have made a ruckus, and I didn't hear no ruckus). the driver seat is completely flat, but still comfortable enough. might look at replacing the seat cover and/or cushion soon if I can. The drivers door sill has a massive spot on the paint that is worn away from me stepping on it when I get out of the van(see picture). The interior in the rear is holding up okay, but obviously, since i use this for delivery, the rear plastic is beat up, but still haven't broken any pieces off. the rear fold down seat is still folded down, and hasn't moved since the day I bought it, literally never had an ass on it and looks like new. the mid row seats obviously were taken out, but the seat tracks were not. the mid row seats sit perfectly in my basement covered over by garbage bags, and again, look like new. the steering wheel buttons get shiny, and no matter how much I clean them, they don't go back to that matte look. you can see which buttons I use the most. the infotainment system still works. I have hit that screen a number of times with stuff and it hasn't broken, so there is that. the "pLeather" that covers the door arm rests, the bridge arm rests, and the lower dash board is hard to clean, and has been mostly worn flat on the drivers side from me resting my arms there. the glove box is beat up from me jamming boxes and shit in there. the passenger seat is near perfect, but has a mystery stain on it, since i don't often have passengers, and I don't put food over there, and I go thru the car wash several times a week, and it has free vacs, so I often suck out the crud. oh well. it still does not burn oil. hardly loses any between changes. I replaced the drain plug with a fumoto valve after the first oil change, game changer when you change your oil often, and also means way less mess, because I can just run it straight to the bottom of the pan. engine has not lost any mileage, as far as I can tell, I am on fuelly, and log every fuel up. im gonna have to log a correction, as the van came with 263 miles on it when my wife picked it up from the dealership. I turned the power sliding doors off within the first week, they are too slow, and I don't want them to break with 30+ open/close cycles per day. It eats the inside of all 4 tires, despite the alignment being "fine". i might take it to a different shop that was willing to get my old GM cargo van some custom alignment setup changes that let me get to about 120k per set of tires. so far, I have gone thru the OEM factory tires, plus a set of snow tires which may not get reused, and now a set of OEM FT140s that have about 35000 on them and are holding up okay.

Thanks for the details. Overall I am a bit concerned based on your report if this new Sienna is as well made as the 3rd gen. Especially the drivers seat breaking down....that should not happen in 100 k miles. My 2005 Honda CRV still is fine. Is yours a LE? Also, if you dont mind...what do you use this van for? Assume it is like Amazon delivery or similar. Finally, for normal use by say a retired couple putting on 15k miles a year do you rate this better than for your use? Basically, is this still the best minivan on the market for durability/reliability. I think maybe the Honda v6 engine requires an expensive timing belt every 100k miles.....this can run all up to a $1,000 I think and downtime.
the seat breakdown is expected, honestly. its a little worse now, and I will probably have to rip the seat apart to replace the seat cushion in the back this summer. the bolstering on both sides of the seat bottom is dead flat now too. it happened in the cargo van I used to drive, so its just an expected repair for me.

yes, mine is an LE.

I use it for contracted daily delivery services. not amazon, thankfully.

as far as normal use, it will probably hold up fine. its not great. the quality is no where near the quality in my highlander, in both assembly and seemingly parts, but it will hold up fine for most who aren't using it to the max.

I cannot make comparisons to the honda, but as far as maintenance goes, im pretty sure a timing belt at a non-dealer should not be $1000, but they can be expensive, but the same can be said with the gen4 sienna. instead of a timing belt, it has a chain, and that will eventually wear out the chain guides, which is even more expensive of a job. The J series V6 is a very reliable engine though, and honda has been using that same basic design for over a decade in various honda and acura vehicles, and many have had no issues.

well, rolled over 160000 miles this week.

Took home the Sienna on June 1st of 2021 with 263 miles on the odometer from the dealer.

Changed coolant and front trans fluid at about 100k(dealer prices for these services were really reasonable, so dealer changed it).

changed oil every 10k, no oil consumption so far, and no issues either, sounds exactly the same, and has the same amount of oil come out that I put in. I am using Amsoil OE 0W-16, as I live next to the main factory, and I am a reseller, so I get it cheaper than even cheap oil at walmart.

changed the rear diff fluid at around 60k, didn't like how dark it was, or how much metal was in it, so I changed it again at about 108k, and it was once again dark, but much less metal. recently just changed the rear diff fluid again at 158k, and there was no metal at all, so whatever wearin was going to happen, has happened. there was no leaks from the CV shafts back there when I was changing the fluid, so thats good, and the bushings look great for having that many hard miles on them, no cracks or wear at all.

I have changed the engine air filter just 3 times, because its not especially dusty here, especially in the winter.

I have changed the cabin air filter like 4 times, it just gets a smell.

I have changed the hybrid battery air filters twice on the passenger side, and the driver side 4 times(im in an out 30 times a day, so it makes sense that dirt/dust collect there).

I have replaced the rear shocks(think that was at 78000). the new ones are holding up okay, I can feel them bottoming out more, so im probably just gonna change them before they fail completely like the originals.

front struts are still fine, and ball joints in the front are okay. I will have the van up on jackstands next weekend to do a through inspection, mainly because its -30f outside right now, and despite having a 60kBTU heater for the garage, it just can't keep up with that.

rear tailgate struts are a little weaker, but still are able to push the gate up and hold it there. The tailgate seems to need to be shut harder than when i bought it, but it still shuts acceptable to me.

driver/passenger doors still shut like new(gentle close, no slamming needed), as do the sliders on both sides(note here: I have the power doors turned off, they are slow, i hate waiting for them, so I just manually open the doors, and they have been used maybe 20 times total since I bought the van!).

I can hear another rear wheel bearing failing. Its not loud enough to cause me concern, but its also not surprising, given I use this thing for delivery and have the mid row seats out, and load the rear every day, its just kind of expected for me, as it was never meant to be used in the way im using it. Either way, my GM cargo van front wheel hubs(much like these bolt in ones from toyota) never lasted more than 70 to 80k anyways, so its nothing new. Might try aftermarket now that there are aftermarket ones, given my parts account means I get a 3 to 5 year unlimited mile warranty on them, so I can drive them to death and get a free replacement when it fails at 300k miles(aka, make a new not so factory parts warranty!).

infotainment system works fine

heat works fine, ac works fine

driver seat is still okay, though I will be looking into replacing the foam probably this spring. hopefully I don't have to buy a new seat from toyota, and can maybe find either a used seat, or an aftermarket foam insert and just put it on.

Edit: spark plugs are on my list of things to do next, as they are the original plugs, but since im not having misfiring issues, starting issues, or any other kind of issues related to weak spark, im not too concerned. if I ran them short trip, yea, 160k would be bad, but im all highway, all the time, and use good gas, and with that same combo was able to get my GM cargo van plugs to 360k miles on the OEM ACdelcos. pretty sure these will be fine for a few more weeks. im not working out in the "hurts to exist outside" cold.
